Seems a bit off this year. Couple kings and steelhead. Wonder if water is not turned over enough. New to area. Still a learning curve. Any pointers appreciated. Thanks all.

I am wondering if we may have caught them last year. Cant catch them twice if they go in the box. Seems to be very inconsistent everywhere.

Well, ended salmon season in Olcott.. 5 fish one day, 2 matures,2youngsters and a steelie and day 2, a mature, a youngin, 3 yr old, and a nice steelhead.. Seems the bait is nill in the area.. Only marked a few bait balls both days.. Oh well, thats why its called vacation, anything goes !! Wont give up, looks like lake needs to turn over to get things goin.. Good fishin all, will keep an eye out, just a 5 hr drive !!

Fished three hours this morning and was skunked. Tried for kings for an hour and noticed the fleet struggling and then all leave for deep water so went in close for browns for two hours. Never had a sniff. What a difference a year makes. Olcott has had an “off” year.

I have switched ports the Point breeze (the Oak).  I've had much better success there over Olcott the last 2 years

Around this time of year? Any good reasonable places to stay in that area? That’s east of Olcott correct.

When is the best time of the year to come to Olcott?

I was there May 5th (Cinco DE 'Mayo) and July 4th.  Both were not good.

I was running a boat with zero electronics but a fellow fisherman told me that the thermocline was at 72-78’
