Started going back out for the first time in many years and a few questions if anyone is willing to reply.

1) does braid work with downrigger  releases ? If so - how best to secure ?

2) any method for getting dipseys out behind with flasher and meat rig ? Just slow to avoid tangles ?

3) are meat rigs / flashers best run on riggers or do dipseys deploy ok ? Leader to flasher length w dipsey ?

4) is running 4 lines enough to stay busy if they are running right or too few ?

5) lead length behind DR balls ?

thanks in advance

1. Can’t help

2. Yes release slow I also run them on a 3 setting to get them out and away

3. I run meat and flashers on riggers and dipsys

4. Some days 4 rods is plenty others could add more.  I run 2 riggers and 2 dipsys most outings and occasionally throw in some coppers

5. Lead lengths vary depending on depth and water clarity.  For spoons I tend to run them back 20-40ft on riggers.  If running a flasher fly or flasher meat I shorten them to 8-10ft at most

1- braid works with certain releases, blacks and chamberlains yes, just need to make a loop and wrap it a number of times(i aim for 7-10 for braid). pinch pads not so much unless you use rubber bands

2- i let dipseys out slowwwww, generally backing the drag off on the reel most of the way, lever engaged, clicker on. let it out too fast things get twisted

3-5, others will have more experience than me when it comes to salmon fishing. i mainly walleye troll on erie
