First, thank you for reading and providing any help you could.  Ill be launching out of Pulaski on Friday, July 10 through July 12 and traveling 2 to 3 miles offshore to troll for salmon.  Ill be leaving the dock at dark and plan on running the first sets in and above thermocline. My question is, should I start with spoons or flasher flies? Ill be alone and could only legally fish 3 lines. Ill be running 2 dipsys and one down rigger. I was gonna run a carbon 14 under the rigger and flasher flies (glow) on the dipsys first thing and then switch to meat rigs later on. Would any of you suggest otherwise? If the thermocline isnt setup by next Friday, ill try running at depths where I see bait. Thanks again.

My deep rigger would pull an 8 inch flasher with meat, just below temp. My divers would be one Spin Dr fly as my deeper and a standard size spoon on my high diver. I wouldn’t line troll until I found bait and marks. When I got into a few I would spin back over the area.
Good luck. Above all fish the marks. The worst lures do better in a target rich environment than the best in dead water.

If all you have is one rigger and 2 divers , I would put out a couple of carbons on my 2 divers . Make one high and 1 low , try to put on above the flasher and one below  . I would put a white / glo flasher on my rigger at 50 deg . If you are alone , netting a king on a dipsey and flasher will be sporty . Bad enough with just a spoon .

You will know soon if the fish want the flashers . If so , put out another on a dipsey .

If a big fish hits a Dipsey , grab the other dipsey , pop it and rel it in as fast as you can so you can play the fish out with no tangles .

When I fish alone I use 2 riggers and one dipsey . On the hit of a good fish, I pop and reel the dipsey in as fast as I can . Sure make landing a whole lot easier

If you don't see baitfish, then run a plug on a longline with a keel sinker, way back, and speed it up.
