I have made an offer on a 26ft criscraft It had twins and was redone for a single out drive. My question is will a 3.0 merc. have enough guts to get me off Lake O if the weather and waves start getting rough? Anybody have anything close to that set up? I like the height of the freeboard in this boat, will be hard to fall out ,over 36" high.

Very marginal. Your only looking at 140hp vs the weight of the boat.

a single 3.0 4 banger merc in a 26' Chris when it used to have twins (probably twin 350's).... not a chance... run away.... run away fast.
