PRO-AM rules??

Hello Guys,

What is the rule for amateur division on who fishes with you? My problem is a want a another fishermen to be on my team but he is a license guide not a captain. Can he still fish the amateur division with us? i'll be fishing the owsego PRO-AM if it makes a difference.

If you take the time to go to the Pro am site and read the rules I believe you will have your answer.

16. Pro Division Definition: Any Captain or team member, excluding the observer, who is/was (or has been within the past 5 years) a licensed charter boat captain, fishing guide, or commercial fisherman, is required to enter the Pro Division. All others may enter the Amateur Division. Amateurs may enter the Pro Division if openings are available.

yes i beleive a GUIDE must enter pro division

if interested the OPEN division is an option for smaller teams with a capt or guide

i thought a guide could fish the amateur. i dont know about the open division. did you do it last year?

no i observed last year for a am team

one of the guys got his capt lic over the winter and we are going to fish the oswego open and mayby one over west
