This has definitely been the best woodcock year I've ever seen. I've personally got 6 limits! My brother and I have taken 31 over his dog along with 5 grouse and 15 pheasants.

I have seen a ton of woodcocks at my property this year too, they seem to be everywhere when you are heading out of the deer stand at night or going into the duck pond in the morning. I've never spent much time hunting them though like I do for Grouse, are they as good eating as the grouse?

that's amazing. the hunters i've talked to have had hit or miss days. i'm going to hit state land near pulaski this weekend. so far phes and waterfowl for me. grouse and wc have evaded me and my dogs .

Blockhead if your refering to the peice of state land on the the woodcock have been decent there this year but nothing like last year. Pheasants well I havent seen one nor has the dog pointed one there this year. The fields were all mowed down before the dang season opened.
