Cannon Marlin downriggers

From what I understand the Marlin downriggers are the predecessor to the Mag 20's is this right? When did they quit making the marlins? How do the marlins compare to the mag 20's? I thought about buying a used pair of marlins. thanks in advance guys...

I have 1 marlin for my center rigger and its been great. It also is super fast.

I run two Marlin HP's and a pair of Mag20DT's on my boat, all with telescoping booms.

As ScottB pointed out, they have a fast retrieval rate.

I had a problem with one of them (had to wiggle the power cable once inawhile to keep power to the unit). Of course, this was during late August, so I waited until the end of the season and took care of it.

Additionally, I had heard that the touchpad keyboard can build up moisture and sometimes fail (hasn't happened to me).

I have alot of hours on mine. If you can get a deal on them....go for it, I don't think you will be sorry

We've run two Marlins on Nothing But Net for over fifteen years now. One of them needs some TLC this winter, but the other is still going strong. They seem to be almost as fast as our new Mag-10 STXs. If you don't buy them, send me a pm...we may need parts or an "extra".
