I was thinking about upgrading my rod holders to something a little stronger can anyone recommend any.

Cannons Single axis and Dual axis Rod Holders I think are the best on the market these days. I know a lot of guys use the bert rod holders as well. They are both durable and they are both ratcheting. Cannon rodholders are a one hand operation.

Are the mounting tracks required when using those cannon rod holders? They do look pretty nice I think I might have to try those.

Cannon has a couple of options but the tracks are nice. Walleye tackle store has almost everything you are looking for and decent prices if your a online shopper

Call Great Lakes planers or get on his website, Tony is a great guy and he will have what you need. You are also helping a local buisness. I have the cannons also they have been ok. I lost the end caps on a couple of the cannons that were less than a year old. Called cannon up, and cannon rep was told I had to order and pay for the part. Thousands of dollars spent in the last two years on Riggers and holders and I have to send money for a three dollar end cap and pay nine bucks in shipping. All for some thing they didnt glue on the first time. Kind of puts a bad taste in your mouth, since I have baught 8 riggers in the last three years. Sean
