Cannon HS10 Short Stop not working - took a dip

Hello All, One of those things......I dropped her in the drink. HS10 under water for 30 seconds. All works well but the short stop is now failing. Any thoughts on which parts to replace? Board?

Replacing parts usually runs about 70% of the camera replacement cost, $140 vs. $200. Had the same problem two years ago with the SD1100, my wife and a canoe trip.

Throw it in a bag of rice for a couple days and hope for the best.

you're right - a twenty pound bag would be about right! Sorry - I was thinking of the Fujifilm HS10 digital camera, although the approach might still work if you soaked a circuit board and it's removable. Works wonders...

Send her back to the company. Cannon will service it and get it right back out to you. The good thing is the season is over and you wont be missing any fishing because of it.
