How far are you running your lure off the ball?

Once I fish deeper than 50' down, I shorten the leaders up a bit. Today I was fishing down 60 -80 and ran 15 - 30' leads off the ball.

i dont run my flashers anymore than 30ft from the ball. and usually is between 10-15ft.. watch the fishfinder also... fish streaking into your set ill run my gear tight to the ball... if im not making anything ill run longer leads as the fish could be getting spooked by the boat..

how deep to you run the balls....say you're marking fish at 60 feet...do you set the balls at 60 or slightly above??

you want your bait above the fish.they will come up to feed often but seldom go down.depending on my speed and resulting blowback,60 feet of cable could be 50-55 ft down.i try to be 5-10 feet above the marks.

I run anywhere from 10 to 50 feet back depending on what I am running (if I am pulling down anything that wants to dive, then short), weather (I run longer if there is allot of chop or if lake is glass), depth (deeper tends to mean shorter), etc..
