  1. Tom has the top 10 in both the AM&Pro listed on his sight: http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/reports1.htm Crazy Ray, Muskie, Tom & every one else I met from this board. It was good to put a face with a name. I'd like to have been a mouse on the Louser's boat just to watch the comedy. Well that and the observer. I tried to get Ray to trade off with ours for day 2 but he wanted no part of it. If the guy that walked up to me when we were bringing the cooler out after Sundays weigh in is from this board please let me kn. I never did get to talk to him, hands were full of slime I turned around to wipe em off and he was gone.
  2. From the Syracuse paper this morning: http://www.syracuse.com/articles/outdoo ... xml&coll=1
  3. Rusty: By metal they are referring to a steel hulled boat. You can mount the compass in the normal position that is recommended for a standard glass hull. Not sure if you have rack & pinion steering or rotary. If it' rack style you will have to replace the cable with a teleflex style rotary cable. Hope this helps:
  4. Rusty: They really arnt that hard to install just intimidating when you open the box. Have any problems or questions pm me or give a call. I've installed a few here at the shop and they seem to be a good unit compered to the old sport pilot.
  5. bosco: That's what I was gettin at.
  6. A 488 is basically the same engine as a 470, 165,170 etc. . They were made by mercury. Block was merc. design aluminum block with a ford cyld head. 4 cyld closed system cooling. They had there share of problems. If you got a good one your good ta go. If not nothing but trouble. If per say the engine is bad as it sounds like, best to replace it with a 3.0 (140) or something else that is reasonable to fit.
  7. You guys are missing it. Jig fish or drift with light tackle and there a lot of fun not to speak of good table fair. Not the same as yanking bass off the beds or out of weed beds with heavy rods and line.
  8. Might be interested.
  9. Not knowing the unit or settings. Looks like bait to me.
  10. Congratulations Dan.
  11. A stickleback it is.

  13. Stixs: I've got two here in the shop. I replaced one yesterday with a new Simrad. I'll see what he wants to do with it & how much.
  14. PM: Check this one out as well. http://fishing.lakeontariounited.com/vi ... php?t=1707
  15. But what about the drive system, engine, manifolds etc. that go along with it? Not to speak of the electrical system and wiring in general, that also corrodes in the salt atmosphere. Just wondering is all.
  16. Two word's only: Stay Away
  17. That's the stuff. Hard to beat and the price is right. A gallon is only about 10 bucks or less, it goes a long way's and does a good job. Matter of fact that's what your new boat was cleaned with when Ben bought it new.
  18. Automotive Bleach White gets my vote. I've used it on my own boat for years as well as clean up on customer boat's. Inexpensive and does a great job.
  19. Yep OK Looks like ya had a great afternoon.
  20. Erin: After 4 years or 3 for that matter I would service them. Clean, ck, repack and adjust especially with the amount of miles you put on it towing from where you are. A bit of preventative maintenance can save a lot of heartache.
  21. Mark: Glad I could help and don't forget at a minimum every 2 years pull the drive. Service the upper and ck. the engine alignment.

  23. RJ: There is a difference and I'm not sure if your talking circulator pump, or raw water pump, but I'm assuming you mean raw water pump ( in Outdrive). Unless your in salt water the engine circulating pump seldom goes bad unless a seal starts leaking or a bearing goes & they are both usually related. The difference between automotive and marine is not the casting but different seals, bearings and a stainless steel impeller plate to help combat salt water corrosion. But as Ray said you can not run the engine out of water unless you have an adequate water supply to it. There are more reasons why the raw water impeller would fail after that short of time if you want, pm me & I'll run a few things by ya.
  24. Redneck: Sorry if you took it wrong. It wasn't ment that way at all. Was just busting on ya is all. Things change day to day up here, and it's not been a real pretty April so far weather wise. Is sping ever going to get here?
