In each report there is a section on stocking. Fishing Report LongLine Lures in the water at 5:30. East SE slight wind. Off Russell in 160-250. Went 2 for 8. (1 stlhd, 1 King) Unbuttoned, unzipped & un-nerved. Rigg'r at 110 with NK Wonderbread took all the shots. Dunked the kicker, worked on it all afternoon & it's now all better. Tired...hence very short report. Luck to all, Tom B. (LongLine)

O/B's a lot easier to winterize & get going again in the spring. With an out board, you don't have to worry about oil or other cr@p in the bilge. I have yet to hear about an outboard boat toasted due to an engine compartment fire; sinking from a bellows failure; stranded because of a broken alternator belt; dead in the water due to a broken spline. O/B boats a lot easier to sell. Even with a shot motor, the boat is still worth a chunk of change. Check out prices on lower units. Anyone that can afford the boat that takes the 300 hp outboard can afford the outboard. Any boat with a 300 hp I/O gets some speed. 300 hp O/Bs freaking fly! I can't afford either so I'll stick with my little 75. Hopefully the darn thing will run tomorrow. Tom B. (LongLine)

The 8'6 rods are very limber. I switched mine over to co-poly lines & threw my mono out a few years back. Much less stretch. Be careful if you "pump" the rod while reeling the fish in. Many guys let the rod go straight which is a big no-no. As said above - ALWAYS keep the rod bent. Tom B. (LongLine)

Fishing Report LongLine At the launch a little after 5:00. Clear & no wind to speak off. Couple other guys also launching. Oops…have to watch out where you’re backing: River had a little incoming traffic this morning. Seth Green was also coming in. Guess they just completed a trawl. Headed out & took a left. Put in around 95 FOW off Russell. Saw some bait early down 25 ft but then it disappeared. Interesting that surface water was warmer as you headed out. Had 65F in about 40FOW and 70.4F in 130. Couple boats working the 30-50 ft range today. Maybe 6 out deeper. Had 54F down 30, but was rather unstable. 44F down 55. Upwellings are interesting. What little wind there was came out of the south. Some real heavy duty currents out there. At one time probe showed 4 ½ mph. Only ran the rigg’rs. One stacked. Ran into this guy at 42 down, about 40 back on an NK w/Grn-prpl Ldrbk, traveling 3 1/4 down speed. (18# King – w/adipose fin) Love these beasties flying solo & on 12# test. Saw quite a few fish surfacing out there after 8:00 so tried a watermelon & raised the stacker to just 5 ft down. Got two small salmon & one that took off for Kingston. I guess it was time to change that line anyways. Good thing I buy bulk spools. Pulled it up around 10:00. We had more company in the river today. The Canadian research vessel – Ontario Explorer was also paying the Genny a visit today. Luck to all, Tom B. (LongLine)

Try some green & purple NK combinations run clean. Recent upwelling along the south shore makes it kind of interesting. Fish a little higher in the water column & faster than normal. i.e. 2.7-3.2 down speed. Good luck. Tom B. (LongLine)

Welcome to the site. Pick your days wisely. Those seats are kind of high for a small boat indicting that's a fairly calm water boat. I'd head out real early. Yes fishing can be great in a chop. I find slamon usually a little higher in the water column on those days. Some guys clear the rigg'r with a fish on & others leave them down. If you do clear i,t remember to keep the rod bent & line tight. Salmon usually get off if they get any slack line. Tom B. (LongLine)
