  1. Seems to me that a couple months ago we felt a minor earthquake that was way south of here & the geologists said we felt it because the bed rock was so hard. (????) BTW Lake Ontario is a "glacial basin" & receives the great majority of its water from surface runoff. Tom B. (LongLine)
  2. Congratulations. Definitely a keeper. Hope mama is doing well. Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. Back at ya Cornelis. It may have hit 40 here today but I doubt it. Warm spell coming tomorrow with less than 1 ft'rs. Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. I used to only run Maxima till it got scarce & expensive around Rochester. I switched to P-Line & haven't looked back. Lots less stretch. Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. DFG - Nice one. Welcome to the board. Tom B. (LongLine)

  14. Sorry Shawn. I lost you on the word list but you are in the puzzle. Tom B. (LongLine) (col 3, row 13, running SW)
  15. As said above, running off the side won't cause more blowback BUT given the bow rise & fall when going across waves, you may get some cross-pully wear on your cable at the pulley. This is important when running coated cable & why it is recomended to run the coated stuff straight off the back. Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. yup...right in the middle of things & as you said basack... Tom B. (LongLine)

  18. Welcome to the board. Your home "de"...is that for Germany? Not sure of your question. Are you asking why use copper rather than mono? If so, copper will give you much greater depth than mono on a flatline & has much much less stretch. Tom B. (LongLine)
  19. Happy Birthday Bob. Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. Two interesting polls: http://www.economist.com/debate/debates/overview/217 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/nat ... le2226443/ I know how I voted. (NFW!) Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. Maybe the sprocket is on the wrong end of the counter and the counter is installed backwards????? Just guessing. Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. That's really neat. Thanx for posting the results of your search. Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. I have no problem with anyone breaking that law of not wearing a PFD provided I don't have to pay for the search & rescue team to find him, the ambulance, the police, the coroner, hauling his boat out, etc. My taxes get wasted on enough other things. Tom B. (LongLine)
  24. Welcome to the board. Assuming Lake Ontario & your after Salmon/trout, in the tiller style, I'd suggest aluminum in the 14-16' range but must have a "V" style hull. NOT a flat or round bottom boat! Preferably a lap-streak design that's deep & fairly wide, with minimum 25 hp. Rivers such as the Oswego, Genny & especially the Niagara can have some mean flows at times so you want something with real good stability. Must have a good set of oar locks & sturdy oars. Tom B.
