This includes bait and fly fishing, casting, trolling, and the use of landing nets to complete the catch. • Anglers must be in immediate attendance when their lines are in the water. ⊲ The use of set lines where the angler is not in immediate attendance is prohibited. • An angler may operate no more than 3 lines with or without a rod. ⊲ each line is limited to not more than 5 lures or baits or a combination of both. ⊲ in addition, each line shall not exceed 15 hook points in any combination of single, double or treble hooks. • Snatching, lifting, hooking, and use of tip-ups are not angling. Would the downrigger cable be considered a line under those circumstances? What's to keep you from attaching a lure to the cable or weight? A quick call will set you straight.

Do not attach the release to the rigger weight. By doing so when you load up the rod the tension on the line will pull the tail in that direction causing the weight to steer in that direction until it can't go out any farther and then reverse in the other direction until it can go any farther and so on. Any of the releases that attach to the cable will stop that action. To prove this back and forth movement to yourself lower the weight down 10' or so and load up the weight and see how it pulls the tail off to the side steering the weight so it won't track straight. Pancakes are the worst for not tracking straight when attaching releases on the tail. Also be sure the tail on the weigh is straight so it doesn't act like a rudder or keel. Blacks, Dubro, Chamberlins, etc all work just fine on the cable.

If you can jack your trailer to change tires then you should be able to change the rollers. Good luck with it neighbor.

I had to do a couple roller replacements on a 19' runabout i/o on a Caukins trailer once. I did it my driveway and never moved the boat or trailer. All I did was use a floor jack with a block of wood on the chime on one side and raise the boat a couple inches off the roller enough to pull the old roller off and install the new one. Just do it one roller bank at a time. You may need two floor jacks spaced out on one side depending which rollers you need to change.

Thanks for the link relaxer. I checked them out and they didn't have the dodgers, just the flashers (Inticer). On another note a fellow LOU member was gracious enough to gift me ten 8" Opti-Dodgers.

You guys bailed me out on a spoon ID a couple weeks ago so now I'm looking for some 8" Opti-Dodgers. Seems that Opti went out of business and I was wondering if anyone knows if another company has their die to stamp out the 8" dodger and is making them. I'd like to get my hands on a few if they are around and don't care about color. I'll just color them up the way I like them anyway.

If you are going to spool a couple reels the easiest way to get a full spool on all is to first spool one of the reels with 1000' wire then top load the backer until it fills the spool. Now attach the backer to the other reel and wind it all on paying attention to the amount of backer so you'll know how much backer to start with on the other spool(s).

I did a search here and couldn't find anything about the Octopus, Hydraulic Steering Fluid. I going to be purging and refilling my Baystar steering and was wondering if any of you have used this stuff ? I have a Raymarine EV-150 autopilot installed also so I'll be using a couple quarts of oil to do the purging. Seen as it's made for marine use autopilots I thought that it would be a cheaper alternative ($33.00 gallon on Amazon) to the Baystar fluid at $25.00 a quart.
