  1. Sounds like the prop hub, If it was the coupler the motor would heat up and you couldn't limp in.
  2. Most any good canvas shop could make ones for you
  3. They are really a circuit breaker. That you can get at napa or an autosupply store . They will trip than reset their self when the cool down and the load is reduced.
  4. Besides cursing, you check your lines often so the build up dosen't get to bad.
  5. Forschner 10 or 12 cimintar ( kinda curved blade) Makes short work of salmon.
  6. The Cortland line co, factory store at exit 11 on Rt 81 has spools of leadcore with 5 through 8 colors for 5 bucks a spool. I Set up a 4 and 5 color reels with their master braid for backing. Cheep way to have some short cores or SWRs , Saw a bunch of R&R spoons there too. The store is over by Arby's and the new BBQ place.
  7. They gave me great advice and sent me to a local machine shop last Aug. to get speedie sleeves to repair my waterpump. They have help us out many times in the past with both parts and advice. Fair prices on parts too.

    Cayuga 7/8/13

Got out this Am with Jim Duncan (livewire) . Launch out of Long Pt about 7 Am and fished the east side south to half way to Miliken station. Hit a nice Rainbow right off the bat on a R&R Wahoo double diamond. That same spoon took a landlock and several nice lakers. Had it on a rigger down 40 to 48' Wound getting a bunch of lakers from 3 to4# We fished the 80 to the 100' line back and forth. Lots of bait pods and WEEDS and some Fleas. Took a pass out over deeper water and marked a bunch of bait in the top of the water colum. The temp was 60 degrees down 40' and 50 degrees down 65' These are our Hero's for today R&R s custom SSW Mag R&R s Wahoo Double Diamond, Watermelon, & Black and Silver
  11. Great report thanks!! I hate when I hit a computer button and lord knows where it goes.
  12. Meat rig is slang for cutbait or whole bait rig , Run off a flasher Usually a 11" or a 13" slasher. Sometimes with twinkies, three small tinsel flies ahead of the cutbait head.
  13. I run mine with the rod flat to the water. Make sure you have a good rod holder. There is a whole nother thread about this.
  14. Snubber is a shock cord about 10" long . I like the clear ones , or black. Dreamweaver, and several Co. s make them. They hook to the back of the dipsie and the leader gets tied to them. The impact of the hit and the head shakes up by the boat are when they are the most valueable. You will find dipsies will work well on champlaine too. On Cayuga I use a lighter leader to the smaller spoons. The boat rocking adds action to the lure with the wireline.
  15. I like 20 to25' that way the knot is well up on the reel when the fish is close to the boat at net time, ( thanks to Andy Bliss for the tip)
  16. Wire line to dipsie. 30# to 50# from snubber to the flasher & fly. 20# from snubber to spoon. Thats how I do mine. I like the snubber for when the fish is behind the boat near netting time. The stiff dipsie rods and the no streach line make those last minute head shakes risky.
  17. Thanks, I knew there was "1" I didn't have
