  1. I remember bringing up the downrigger ball on Cayuga years ago and having lampreys on it. They would let go when the ball cleared the water and stick to the side of the boat... very poor fishing... Last few times going to Cayuga this year the bite is not as good as it has been. Its probably me but I think the waters a different color somethings going on. There has not been many Cayuga reports lately, If folks are not catching they generally have nothing to report. Been skipping the fingerlakes alot this summer.Going up chasing salmon on Ontario. I think Pappy above has the right Idea. MSGA. I have a late lake ontario report from Saturday.
  2. Some real nice fish showing up. Not that I want to get older faster but looking forward to next years derby.Even if you think they wont make it they stand a better chance in the lake than in the cooler.
  3. I had a dock .Did not fish much. 7 lakers and a LL. Brought up downriggerball in 80 fow and it was warm. Did tubing and sightseeing. The fish I caught were small very stressed . released and some probably did not make it. Fished both deeper water holes. 2 rod spread to turn tight. As you would imagine suttons. Guy next to me caught this pike. Nice lake ,extremely busy on weekends. The homes around the lake are just amazing. All the restaurants in area that we stopped at were great. Thanks to those who responded.
  4. May make the trip if they are biting.

  7. I have a 2000 115 Yamaha outboard. I have awalys used Yamaha gear lube in the lower unit.. I did not have enough so I went to the parts store to get some they did not have any marine gear oil...14 mile round trip. I looked in the spec book and all it says is SAE90 Hypoid gear oil.. I have 3qts of Valvoline Full synthetic 75w-90.gear oil left over from another project. Should i use it? Not being cheap but I have so many odds and ends oils.
  8. Thanks for the Hughes reports..

Thanks for reply...Its hard to find the collapsible boards now.. Its like everyone has gone to inline. or otterboats. the amish ones are to bulky  and big. I only need one I am in no rush .. So good luck with sale and I am sure I will find one.

  12. Skateo. we were out there also.. 500fow... Had one run 900ft out before it straightened the hook.Had to clamp the drag down before we got spooled ..Spoon hit I would have liked to see it... Stayed the night and fished today. 8 majors.. several steelhead, and some skippers..Mostly spoon bite. Best salmon day in many years
  13. After reading about all the great fishing I think we got there late for the party... We did manage a decent brown, a couple skipper kings , a teenage king and a real oddball laker that I wish I took a picture of. The laker was shaped exactly like a football brown... had like a stubby nose.. had the coloring and spots of a laker. did not weigh it but it felt real heavy in the net. released it as quick as I could without touching it.. Got out about 2PM started in 140 and worked the area between 140 and 240.. got off water after dark.. spooks worked the best fish came off divers and riggers. different depths. Nice afternoon to be out .Stayed the night hopeing to get a early start this morning..the lake was roaring with a north east blow. HARD TO BEAT A LO SUNSET. Marked a lot of bait and fish...

  19. I should add it was a male. If it was a female it would have been real heavy.

  21. Jump in the waters fine.. 607-592-2721 607-592-2721 607-592-2721 607-592-2721 607-592-2721 607-592-2721
  22. Old school and old old school. Ive got a couple in the boat somewhere to. Not for sale but I would trade one for the pirate spoon with like white crystals it has a coarse shinny sandpaper finish.
  23. My first set of these riggers came used on a boat I bought back in the 80s. Parts are real scarce now .I have two more replacement riggers like this in the garage ready to go. These still haul a 12lb ball up from 160ft like nothing. The counters are not real accurate anymore I just dial them in on the depthfinder. The tag on this one says 1985... My math says 37 years old and still going strong. Will definately outlast me. I have one I have cannibalized for parts .It still ran but gears were worn out.. They dont make em like this anymore..
