  1. These are the same as was used out in front of the Nine Mile Nuke plants.
  2. Looks like they are doing work on the break wall, big crane & barge next to the lighthouse. Anybody know what is going on? http://www.lakevision.com/index.html go to camera map then Oswego Thanks John
  3. Saw it heading East on Oneida Lake out in the channel
  4. Jim: I have been using the #1's for Oneida, & the fingers, #2's for spoons on Lake Ontario, & #3's for flasher fly set ups. No swivel failures in the last four years, & he is a site sponsor, can't get any better than that John http://www.greatlakestackleshop.com/search.php
  5. gp; Have the wife get a part time job to allow you to have the unit you need! John
  6. ben: Eliminate all of the sudden stopping & starting by getting Traxtech riggers, they have a 5' soft start & stop, plus many other great features. I have been running four of them for two years & they are by far the best riggers I have owned (have had bigjon brutes, & cannon). 7. If you set your drag correctly, & keep tension on the fish, 20lbs breaking strength on any line, including wire will allow you to boat most of them, with few line breaks, just sayin! Good luck to all John
  8. JG; Looked at it online, appears to use a battery powered drill for winding, so it doesn't have it's own motor? Good looking unit though. John
  9. Patriot: Traxtech riggers have a 5' soft start & stop, so no jerking ever. Really like the four on my Hewescraft. John
  10. Does this photo qualify as a DEC infraction & ticket under the new law?
  11. Not all of them are from Erie, U-Betcha charters (Oak Orchard) ran over me with his 10 Meter Trojan, he never altered his course, & forced me to pull up my spread, & take a 45 degree course change just to get by his big boards that were at least 200' to each side of his boat. I hollered at him since he was so close & he basically flipped me off. This kind of arrogance has no place on the great Lady O!
  12. Fishing tanked toward the end of the week, earlier there were some 10 to 17lb Kings to be had. We got our Spring supply of salmon fillets early in the week. Boxed out Sat, Sun, Mon, & Tue, then after that just a few kings per day. Yesterday we were only able to boat one King at 17.5 LBS. Could not buy a weigh in fish all week. We fished from Wilson to the Bar daily. John
  13. Wondering if they got all the docks in with electrical power available (transient & seasonal)? Understood that they dredged the harbor & had a lot of ice damage, & that the seasonal docks were all being replaced. Thanks in advance for any info! John
  14. CS: I have a 2011 8 HP HT Honda 4 stroke on my Hewescraft, & I had my Seller/Outfitter install an up down button at the transom next to the kicker. It is easily done if you are a skilled installer, like Calumet Marine where I bought my boat & had it outfitted. So, no they don't come with a tilt button on the motor, but one can be easily installed if you want one. I would contact Frank or Derek Martin at Calumet Marine, & I think they can tell you what needs to be done. 15. Gill; Love those bight as chrome kings, the one you are holding is a beauty! How heavy was it? I will be fishing out of Olcott for the Spring LOC, & am hoping that there are more Kings there than last year! Great picture! John
  16. BS: That amount of dead fish in small when compared to the amount of mooneye's that used to wash up on the shores of all lake Ontario bays prior to the stocking of Pacific salmon. The bays used to have a ring of dead fish on them a foot deep & a number of yards wide, now there is a real stink! John
  17. GLLM: Very nice looking spoons, are these available on line? Looking for a new go to spoon supplier since NK is gone. These look like they would be a good next one up! John
  18. Tony: Try this http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/region_map.html looks like Erie is opening up really fast. John
  19. MXZ: Wondering what you meant by not having to return after every fish? Did you mean retune? John
  20. NJ; I have 18' of Traxtech track on my boat, & it is good stuff, I can mount, move & dismount all accessories easily. Plus stuff stays where you put it & doesn't come loose when properly tightened. John
  21. Over: How big are your guns? Seems like that would be the main limiting factor. Keep an eye on the how much the boom & frame flex while you deploy your 20 LB Shark! John
  22. CE; I have fished the lake several times a number of years ago, & was not happy with the access there that I knew about, I think it was a gas station on the South East side, very steep ramp, & almost no parking. The State needs to put a public launch in, & if they did, the lake probably would get more walleye stocking, & attention. John
  23. Tom; Thanks for the photo, looking great! Good news, hoping that the high East winds scheduled for this week push all of the ice out into deep water where it will melt, same for Lake Erie, need to get the ice boom out so the ice needs to be < 50 square miles. We will be on the bar for the Spring derby again! John
  24. Brian; Guessing that you were on the lakers, any size to them? John
