  1. Since the Oswego Lighhouse Cam is down, is there anywhere else to see today's monster waves? Thanks; John
  2. Loosing a laker at any time is a blessing, don't have to handle their slimy crap spraying stinky AZZ, & don't have to clean off the boat!
  3. Frog; I have been using Traxtech triple trees for the last four years, & IMHO you won' find any better. They tip down so you could put a rod tip in the water if you want to. good luck John
  4. YT; Thanks for sharing these great fish, waiting for your first King photo! Good Luck John
  5. SF; After 1 or 2 yrs, I typically respool my wire diver reels contents onto a like spare empty reel, using the opposite end of the spool, this also allows you the ability to inspect the wire throughout its length. Good Luck John
  6. Sarge; Question is do the Kings still like them? John
  7. Chowder; Don't overlook the Traxtech riggers as they with out a doubt the best riggers I have ever used. Sold four Brutes & switched over to Traxtech four years ago, Traxtech has a soft start & stop built in, they run slow at the start (5') then full speed, then slow for the last 5'. The cost a couple hundred more, but IMHO are very worth it. Lifetime warranty too. Good Luck with your purchase. John
  8. How loud are those custom pipes?
  9. Char: Lakers live a lot longer than Kings, so they remain in the ecosystem as adults much longer, so less Lakers, & manage the stocked Kings based on the condition of the forage base. Lakers also have a relatively low performance digestive system causing them to eat more bait fish to get their required amount of protein compared to other species. John
  10. What, they had another 10 million gallon sewage release???
  11. Spoon; Probably will have to buy the next level up. john
  12. Spoon; I have had one of those chairs for four (4) years, & it still looks like new & functions like new. When I bought it for approx $200, they had one with a stainless steel frame for about $100 more if my memory serves me well. How much were your chairs? John
  13. Stone; I have the setup shown & have been enjoying it for the last four years, it works great. You can let the bottle hang, or use a 5, 10 or 20 lb propane tank with a longer hose. Love mine, & it is great to troll past another boat with marinated backstraps smelling great! good luck! John
  14. Mike; Do you have to bring in the last two feet after the rigger stops 2' below the surface to hook up your line? John
  15. Hawk; Yes, the board stays on the line & must be removed by hand to finish landing the fish, & yes I have had the board dive on occasion. This can be almost eliminated by keeping your rod tip near the water surface. Good Luck! John
  16. NYS record as above with a little more info Walleye 16 lb. 9 oz. 34 Thomas Reed Creek Chub Mystic Lake, Cattaraugus Co. 1/20/09
  17. Walleye 16 lb. 9 oz. 34 Thomas Reed Creek Chub Mystic Lake, Cattaraugus Co. 1/20/09
  18. Picked this off the web, not sure it is current. Ontario Walleye Record Angler: Patrick Noon Length: 36 inches Weight: 22.25 lbs Girth: 21 inches Waterbody: Niagara River near Fort Erie Date: May 26, 1943 Bait: unknown Source: Ontario Fishing Net
  19. Hawk; Just go around the front pinch pad twice, this will keep the braid on there, also as said above spin the board four or five times on the back pin as well. You need to spin the line on the back pin first, then go around the pinch pad twice. good luck! John
  20. kilr: I have owned Bigjon Brutes, & Cannons, I have been running four Traxtech riggers for the last few years, & without a doubt, these are the best riggers I have used. They have a soft start & stop, so there are no weights being catapulted when the rigger stops. I use 16lb torpedo weights, & they are good to approximately 120' down, when I have to go deeper, I use 20lb weights with no problem. Good Luck! John
  21. Todd: I live on Oneida Lake near Shakelton Point (south shore), & the water can get up a little, but it would not be a problem like Ontario. The lake was drawn down a couple of feet through December & seems to be well controlled all year long. Good Luck; John
  22. ADK; Good choice on the boat, hope you get it!. I have been enjoying my Sea Runner 220 since April 2011, bullet proof hull. Two suggestions: look at Traxstech riggers, once you use them you will love them, I have Garmin GHP-10 autopilot that works on either motor (Honda 8 HPHT, & BF225 it works great & is enhanced with my Garmin Chartplotter.. Good Luck John

  24. FM; I agree that Steelhead can look different, but Atlantics, Coho's, & Kings are very similar from either coast from my viewpoint. Have a great day. John
  25. FM; Wondering what you mean by "Our Lake Ontario fish are unique"? John
