    I was told it was caught on a Bayrat! I would guess 25ish years old. The 34.06 we caught in 2012 on Lake O was 27 years old.

    This is what Late May / June used to be like in the 90's. The kings will come. The browns are a little more concerning than the kings. The past 3 seasons we have been spoiled. You have to take the good years with the bad years in this fishery. Those that do not will not survive. Tough fishing helps you learn. Take advantage of tough fishing and try new things.

    2012 was the last die off like this. 2012 was also a huge year class.

    Brian explained how the trawls work so we understand them a lot better. Very great info. The trawls report will be released sometime in July according to Brian. He did say the die off is from a very large year class of 1 year old alewife and its very common. He also stated there was a bump in the smelt numbers along the entire South shore.

    Mags do not necessarily catch bigger fish. I run them most of the time on divers. I even run them for browns. I run fixed and free sliders on my riggers when running spoons. I mix the slider spoon size up. Sometimes the smaller spoon is on the slider and sometimes the bigger spoon (even mags).

    I run mostly Stingers and run them in Stinger, Stingray and Mags. Some days one works better than the others. I find the Stingray size works best for all species most of the time.

    I have a set of Weather tech floor mats from my wife's 2018 Ford Explorer. They are in good condition. There is all three rows of mats. $75.00 and pick up only.

    The 1 year old hatch of alewife was huge. You see this on huge year class years. If my memory is correct, the spring of 2012 or 2013 we had a die off of 1 year old alewife. That was a huge class of alewife.

    The Canadians started a cormorant hunting season. 50 per day. We need to push back and get this moving before we lose years of the fishery.

    You will never make everyone happy Pete. Running a tournament or derby is a thankless job.

    I'm not sure what we need to do. Lawsuit? We have brought it up to the DEC for years and they say its out of their hands.
