This is a Hilarious question... They have already said October 2021 before completion... Complete Disaster and South Shore Embarrassment.

I run the FH/DR pair. DR gets the top of the temp break and FH gets the bottom. Always a bracket.

Need help unerstanding term”Lake Flipped”
Tall Tails replied to Hachimo's topic in Open Lake Discussion
This can be a long answer but lets see if I can simplify it. A "Flip" that you are asking about is when the lake has been stable with a thermocline and then we get a Hard south wind. That rushes the cold water in and replaces the warm top with the cold. We call this "ice out" or a flip. What you are describing at least to me and the way I have learned it is the west wind simply fills the bay with warm water and you need to get offshore to find the correction. In some cases typically later in August the fish wont leave once they are "Staging" they just get finicky and wont bite much. The Bay is a different animal when it comes to Warm water. West wind probably effects the bay more then any other place on the lake. You need an East or a South wind to make the correction to the bay and bring the cold water back in. The trick in the bay is to run deep and keep stopping and checking with your probe until you find the temp you are looking for unless you are marking them. In that case the temp wont matter if they are hungry. I hope this helps. -

No arm chair here. I run major construction for a living when I am not fishing... Build schedules for projects ten times the size of Wrights Landing that allows municipalities to continue income and complete there projects on time and under budget. If my projects looked or ran anything like this one I would have been out of a job a long time ago. -

This is called Kool Aid! I would encourage you to FOIA the city of Oswego for the plans for the Marina.... See if you think you'll be able to turn a 25ft boat trailer around in the parking lot when they are done... Again there are many things happening down there that they aren't talking about. I really wish I could say more.... Keep in mind they fired the original MARINA engineer and decided they could design it better themselves..... -

Not a HOBBIE for quite a few who are affected on an already tough year... The mayor is clueless and short sided. The end result is not an improvement it is lipstick on a pig... There will not be new docks but they are going to spend a MILLION dollars on a fountain... I hope you enjoy the fountain... There are a few other major items but I have already said to much... Anyone want to ask the city why they fired the original design engineering company and decided they could do it better themselves?? Anyone? How about returning deposits to all the dockers who paid thinking they were going to have a dock this year?? -
Nothing to turn on with an echip. What presentation are you trying behind the chip? Meat? Flies? A little more detail and we can probably get you started in the right direction. The Pro Trolls are a great attractor.

Wrights Landing Marina
Tall Tails replied to cjc's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
When this project is all over people are not going to believe what they see... I cant go in to details because of my source but say good by to most of the parking. Oswego could care less about the fishing public. They don't have a clue the about revenue generated by the fishery nor do they care. -

Moss is fairly bothersome in the BT water off Oswego. Mostly in the river current however. Some cottonwood as well as other posters have mentioned.

No fleas yet. No way the marina opens. It looks like a bomb went off over there. Painfully obvious the city is running the project and not an experienced construction outfit. If you saw the fill they are bringing in to raise the parking lots it would make your head spin.... I also wonder what engineer signed off on the current sheet pile wall handling the extra wall load the increase in the parking lot is going to give it... I will leave that to everyone's imagination...

Opinions wanted on a baha cruiser 28 weekender
Tall Tails replied to Hachimo's topic in This Old Boat
I have owned a couple 28 Sport Fisherman over the years. I agree with Chris on a few things above. Disagree on a few others. Yes following sea sucks. Most boats don't do well though in big following seas. The Baha is a little nose heavy. This is what hurts it in the following sea. I believe the 28 is great in the ditch. Not many boats in that size class perform well in the ditch the 28 does. the 29 Penny is another good ditch boat in the same class. I had 305 Volvo's never wished for anything bigger. Tweaked props added cupping to allow planning at lower rpm. The boat had plenty of power with that engine package. I also had a 28 with the 351 Windsor Fords that was just as good. But in comparison the 305's ran the boat just as well. Volvo trannies are EXPENSIVE to replace (rebuilding is not an option) in kind you would most likely replace with Hurths. They are the Cadillac of marine transmissions anyway. Yes on the Sea trial and Survey. Most out there by now have had it done at this point. -

Definitely not the torpedo. The regular black coated with a clincher will work just fine.

This is a question for your attorney. This is a matter of Liability. If a group is on your vessel and someone gets sick the Health department investigation will track back thru your boat as they have each individual retrace there steps for 14 days. You and your insurance company could become liable. That is the short answer and again definitely ask your attorney. I spent most of last weekend on the phone with our corporate attorney clearing our work site under the governors rules. People should not be within 6ft of anyone outside of the people that they share the same house with. Tough situation for everyone all the way around. I hope it comes to end soon.

Power stocking is happening all over the state due to the virus. The scenario is if one hatchery worker gets sick the entire hatchery staff has to quarantine for 14 days... That would not be a good outcome for the hatchery. I think the DEC is doing the best they can right now with the circumstances they are under as we all are trying to either keep guys working or our supply chains running for our own income sources. Every day is a new challenge that we have never thought of. Stay healthy everyone.

Unfortunately our Tackle Swap for Sunday has been cancelled. The Board of Directors at the Fire Department has closed there facility thru mid April. It is very disappointing for us to have to cancel but feel it is ultimately in the best interest of everyone. We will be reaching out to all of our vendors to discuss your refund. Thank you to Rob and Chris who were going to be our guest speakers. And a big thank you for your interest in our swap, we will return in 2021! Thank you, Brian
