  1. I was up to Mexico Bay this past weekend. I was planning on doing some research for a place to hold a tournament but it's to early in the season. A couple of people and places I had planned to visit are not arouind/open yet. If anybody can get a lead or two on some place to hold a tourney let me know. Seems like the interest is definately there. Thanks Glen
  2. Wish I could make it but theres fish to catch. Hank let me know if you want to hook a few while your in the neighborhood. The infamous Richard might let you in on a couple of his tricks. Glen
  3. Got to tell you Mr. Hank knows his business and as already mentioned, it might be a good idea to take his advice. Good luck Glen
  4. You can use any rod but the question would be whether or not your going to be able to enjoy the battle of the fish or just wench them in. Good luck Glen
  5. Don't have any experience with Lowrance as I have always run Garmin and have been happy with them. Good luck Glen
  6. That should work fine. Glen
  7. LBG. It would closely resemble the old proam rules with the exception of a 6 fish 6 rod limit so 2 man teams could compete. And absolutely NO COMMUNICATION. No one who has a Capts license or who has run charters in the past would be allowed to fish. I would like to see observers which would mean 3 on the boat but when the time comes we would see what the popular vote would be. As mentioned there are many things more difficult than the rules that need to be nailed down. If any of you guys from around the lake could ask around and see if anybody would be willing to work with us at different ports that would be great. Tackle shops, Marinas, local tourist organizations, things like that are necessary to get the ball rolling. I'm going to be doing some sniffing around in the Mexico area of the lake the next couple of weeks. Glen
  8. You got a pm luv2rapala. Glen
  9. For you, just for today the prices are doubled. Sent you a pm Richard. I'll be up this weekend. Glen
  10. That would have to be determined as would the rules. Theres alot involved and I'm just trying to determine if theres enough interest in a serious proam style, am only tornament. Glen
  11. I'm looking to get an idea if a serious amatuer only Tournament would work. Personally I would like to see one similiar to the old proam but without the BS rule changing every year. And most important...NO COMMUNICATION Glen
  12. No it's not anything like the Challenges. What it's like is the am division of the proams without the affiliation. And yes, Lateron is a charter. It certainly won't be an easy feat to get going and the chances of if happening aren't great but it's possible. I'm all for it and will help in anyway I can. Glen
  13. I like it except for the no observer part Although observers are not a perfect solution they are a big asset when it comes to keeping people on the up and up. Were ever theres money and prestige involved, you will always get some low life that will want to cheat. I hate it but it's a fact. Other than that it sounds like fun and with a two man team you can now still run a 6 rod spread. Glen
  14. Yes they are available Jayrfred. Sent you a PM. Glen
  15. Got to get rid of some stuff. Rods 3 Diawa Accudepth downrigger rods. 2 Heavy action 1 Med action 1 Cabelas 8 1/2 ft downrigger rod Medium action. $25.00 a piece all 4 for $85.00. Spooled up as a spare and carried in the boat but never used. $70.00 3 Okuma Convector 30 D Got these in a package deal and never used them. 2 seem to work perfectly, one has a bad clicker and sticky drag. $60.00 for all three as is condition. About 20 assorted spoons and a couple flys from different manufactures. Sizes for Browns, Steelhead and Salmon and fish catching colors. First $35.00 takes um Buyer pays shipping or pick up in Mexico on a weekend. If your just starting out and want a package deal I will cut you a good price break. PM or post if interested. Thanks for looking Glen
  16. And usually a better option.
  17. They will all catch fish at one time or another. Your job is to find which ones will produce on any specific day and conditions. Best way to do that is put um in the water and drag them through fish and pay attention to details. Good luck. Glen
  18. I find it hard to believe pro fishermen are trying to justify this using a one day event in it's first year. When you play poker do you find a table full of profesional poker players to play against? Dout it. Whats being claimed here is there is no difference between a pro and am fishermen. Interesting. Also interesting is the fact these claims are being made by pro fishermen. As much as I don't like these changes I was going to fish Oswego to try it out. I put in for a couple vacation days after the 4th for prefishing and just found out they changed the date to the following week. Guess I'm done. Looked forward to fishing the proams every year like no other tournament or derby on the Lake. Sure gonna miss um. Good luck to the am boats that go for it. Glen
  19. Sure. You just unplug the antenna wire.
  20. Under normal conditions it would be a challenge Brian. When that lake gets bumpy the deck is totally stacked. I couldn't compete against those big boats which is the number one reason I didn't enter the pro division previously. Can't afford to run a boat that size fishing for recreation. Glen
