  1. Thats good news. I just picked up 2 of the Okuma classic pro Copper/Leadcore rods and was pleasantly suprised for the money. Looking forward to running them this season. Glen
  2. Have a good one Rich. Glen
  3. So if I am to understand this correctly, you have recreational fishermen, guys who can fish maybe one day a week for fun pitted against profesional fishermen who fish for a living in boats that will fish 6 guys comfortably? Or in other words the amatuer division is being eliminated so you either fish pro or open? Glen
  4. I run Champions in my 94 2 stroke 20 hp evinrude and it runs great with the Champions. Lots of trolling hours. I run NGKS in my 200 Yamaha and get two seasons out of them without issues but only 30 minutes a day at trolling speed exiting and entering the river to the dock. If you are not satisfied with the NGK's in that motor, try a set of Champions. Not an expensive experiment and it might work out for you. If it don't not much is lost. Good luck Glen
  5. Thanks for the good wishes guys. So many fish so little time. Glen
  6. Go with a fixed. A good 8 ft quality antenna is more important than the radio.
  7. Happy Birthday. Hope it was a good one. Glen
  8. Make a nice Christmas present for Marlene, Brian. Glen
  9. Too bad Richard learned how to swim. He's like a bad penny. He swims like a fish Musky.
  10. Thats why when someone gets hurt on my boat, first thing I do is toss um overboard. No more issues. Only lost a couple so far. Glen
  11. Here check this out.... http://midcurrent.com/experts/the-diffe ... ed-salmon/ Glen
  12. They are Land Locked Atlantic Salmon. Period. Sebago Lake in Maine was one of the first lakes to support a naturally reproducing Land Lock Salmon. Or so I been told. Fish from Sebago were stocked in many different lakes. Should find a lot of information on this topic by doing a search on the internet. Glen
  13. Yankee troller is dead on. The 47's are overkill for Browns. Way to much line capacity you don't need. The 27's are fine Brown trout reels. I run Diawa Sealine SG27's and had a few of the Accudepth plus 27's for spares. Now with the 3 rod rule, I have been running the Accudepths last season and they do the job but I prefer the Sealines. A friend of mine rigged up a couple Ugly Stick light action down rigger rods with Shimano Tekota 500 LC's late last season. What a sweet combination that is. Wish I had the cash to justify the upgrade. I'd do it in a second. Good luck. Glen
  14. In June of 2011 the Senate voted overwhelmingly to end the billions of dollars of ethanol subsidies that was set to end at the end of the year. The Obama administration vowed not to end it. They are giving an already incredibly lucrative industry, 45 cents of our tax dollars per gallon. Guess what...They didn't end. If you are concerned with the direction the country is headed you only have one tool to stop it and thats your vote. If you don't vote this coming November then don't ****. Good fishing. Glen
  15. 31 to 24 Patriots. 55 pts Glen
  16. Okuma classic pro MH for rods with 30 lb test Ande for attractors and flies. Shimano Tolaras for rods with 30 lb test necked down to a 20 lb flourocarbon leader for spoons and plugs. Shimano Tekota 600LC's for reels on all. This is for Salmon. 8' 3" light action Shakespear ugly stick downrigger rods teamed up with Diawa Sealine 27's with 8 lb test for Browns. All the above gear has served me well. No complaints. Glen
  17. Hey pretty good memory there Ice. Turns out I used a little bit of Gorilla glue where the small piece broke off and good as new. Still going strong in 6 and 7 footers pulling 500 and 600 feet of copper. Glen
  18. Do a search on Otter Boats on this board. You will find a whole lot of information on this topic. Glen
  19. You are correct in your concerns. Particularly the fuel consumption and especially about keeping the hours off a big dollar main motor. I would go with a larger main motor like a 200 hp and a kicker. Good luck. I wouldn't mind having to make that decision. Glen
  20. Ah hell, I'm easy going now stop whining and don't break nothin. Keep your hands in your pockets. Glen
  21. Sorry to hear the news Bob. Your welcome aboad Spoonfed anytime you want to get out. You can give me a hand keeping an eye on Richard back there. Glen
  22. With a flare stuck in your as_. Had some fun didn't we Toad?
  23. Definatley use a snap swivel with a spoon. Otherwise your line will twist up like crazy. Tie the snap swivel to the end of your line and connect the spoon to the snap swivel. I don't use a leader unless I am running heavy line. Then I will attach the leader to the main line using a small barrel swivel and tie the snap swivel to the end of the leader.
