  1. Yes I've heard of such a rule. Basically I'll run long leads in shallow water and in deeper water I'll go short with one side and long with the other and see what happens. If my dipsys are going and my riggers aren't, that would usually indicate a long lead is required. If I'm getting streakers and no hits the first thing I'll adjust is my speed the 2nd is my lead lengths. Let the fish tell you what to do. (or not to do) They will.
  2. Yes, thats generally long but sometimes thats where the fish want it. As mentioned the deeper you are fishing the shorter the leads. As short as 5 feet at times.
  3. Ya that should be OK. Make sure your switch will handle the current. Just keep in mind if you get out on the water and you are getting interference on any components you might have to run an independent line to that component. I get interference on my subtroll when I key the mike on the vhf but it's no big deal to me as it's very temperary. Glen
  4. Looks good Nick. Glen
  5. Congratulations. Good health and lots of happiness to you all. Glen
  6. With seperate units, should one go on the fritz, the other one still works. More screen size unless you buy a big screen for big money. Also I'm not tied to one manufacturer. I like Garmin for gps and Furuno for ff. Disadvantages would be two units take up more space and you have two installations. Probably more money. Personally, I go with seperate units. Good luck Glen
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. Glen
  8. I'm looking for the best price on a Furuno 620 FF. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks Glen
  9. If you liked it in the 8lb, I don't see any reason not to try the heavier stuff Andy. Glen
  10. Congratulations on a great season as well as the new addition. Glen
  11. I installed the Control king on my Honda last season and it makes dialing in and duplicating the trolling speed pretty easy. It was a good investment. Glen
  12. Should be fine. I run a 25 Wellcraft and 15 hp Honda. The 15 pushes her through anything. And I do mean anything. Glen
  13. From our family to yours. Glen

  17. Nikon 3-9 x 40 Matte Brand new in the box. Cost over $200.00. First $100.00 takes it. PM or post if interested. Glen
  18. Happy Birthday Bob. Hope you have a great one. Glen
  19. If you are planning on using this motor for trolling you will be wise to consider a four stroke. Trolling doesn't bother a big four stroke in the least, great fuel economy, quiet ,quiet, quiet and no 2 stroke fumes. Did I mention they are quiet ? Good luck with your purchase. Glen
  20. Very sorry for your loss Split. Thoughts and prayers go out to you. Glen & Kelly
  21. uh.....NK m80's , super mags.
  22. Don't get me involved in this Bullsh_t And as far as the "buy every lure on the shelf so nobody else could get any" is more Bullsh_t. If someone remembers correctly that same person suggested it and it was answered with a WTF are you kidding stare. I bought 4 of those spoons. 2 to replace the two that got bent while releasing fish off the back of the boat and two more as spares because they were hot that day. Didn't do much on tourney day though, we lost. Have a great day. Glen
  23. Very interesting find!!! Congratulations and thanks for the informative and interesting post. Got to admit I was looking for a Salmon or two peeking around the corner of one of the objects. Glen
