  1. Earlier in the year, mid march to mid April, a good 1/3 of our fish were marked or had eels attached. Much higher percentage on fish better than 9 lbs. Really a shame. As the month of april came to an end and the fish numbers in the Bay increased the percentage has dropped. Still to dam many though. Glen
  2. I run the Diawa Sealine27. Picked up a couple of Accudepth plus 27's and they work. The Sealines are a much better reel for the extra $30.00. Glen
  3. Big ol Laker. Congrats. Glen
  4. Lure is usually about 40-60 feet behing the board. The board takes your offerings away from the boat, eliminating the need for long leads. Glen
  5. My small inline boards that I run my Trout lures off are fixed. I want to get some enjoyment out of a 5 lb Brown without pulling in a board for the entire battle. Glen
  6. A southeast wind won't be a problem fishing tight to shore out of Oswego. West will. They are usually hitting Browns in the Harbor at this time of year. Should be OK in the Harbor. Glen
  7. Very sorry to hear of your problems Sean. I am with the majority here as far as fighting tooth and nail to get them to uphold their end of the deal. Definately get some legal advice from your friends and make some noise at Yamaha. A lot of noise. Go public using every tool available and let Yamaha know about it. They really don't want bad publicity. The squeaky wheel always gets the grease. Best of luck. Glen
  8. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Very sad news indeed. Glen and Kelly
  9. gotta be pretty comfortable. Nice rig. Glen
  10. I just use a couple overhand knots. 2 or 3. Put a peice of electrical tape on the first wrap to hold it while you spool up. If you get that deep into the spool with a fish your probably in trouble with any knot. Glen
  11. Glad you got into some browns Chowder. Hanks a good guy.
  12. Beautiful fish. Get an acurate weight on him?
  13. Nice to see a report from you buddy. Keep those western fish populations in check. Glen
  14. Well after three weekends of tough conditions and hot fishing, we had beautiful conditions and tough fishing. Could only manage 8 bites in the morning. One small steelhead, one small Landlock and the rest where average Browns. Nothing of any size this trip. Went in for lunch and came back out for the afternoon and checked out some new water. Found perfect conditions with cloudy water and great temps and was really set to put a hurtin on those Browns. NOT. Trolled for probably 3 1/2 hours and only hit one average size Brown about 5 lbs. Should have only weighed about 4 but he was eating pretty good. Had Kremer01 onboard and had a good time as always with some good tournament training taking place. Just needed to add a few more fish and next time out, he's going to get some time on the net. Will post a couple pictures when I get time. Glen
  15. The legal limits are are in place to protect the fishery and stocking numbers are adjusted accordingly. A fishermen keeping his LEGAL limit of fish is doing nothing wrong. Period. Charters or Rec's. If somebody wants to support the fishery by purchasing a license, fishing tackle and all the other money they bring to the local economy associated with fishing, wants to keep their legal limit of fish then good for them. Get out of yourself and double check your motives before you make a statement like that. This post was started to bring awareness to protect the illegal fish that are next years and future years LEGAL fish. Like to add as long as these fish are put to use and NOT wasted. Welcome to the board. Glen
  16. And the new guy Mr. Toad fit in just fine. He's a natural. Hank, you get an indication of the abuse I take out there?
  17. That WAS funny as hell. Key words there Richard Got the fish "IN THE BOAT". See ya soon.
  18. Bring it if you got it. The weekend before last we were smoking the Browns in 27 fow 10 and 15 down. Glen
  19. I introduced my friend Toad to the message board a couple weeks ago and brought him up to the Lake to help me reel in some fish. Met up with another friend, the infamous Richard, up at the campsight on friday night and he jumped in the boat with us. What a crew I had Anyway headed out Sat. morning and the very familiar words NW at about 20 is the first thing I said. Covered alot of water and three hours later with only 2 average Browns in the box we finally figured them out. Action was fast and furious with stickbaits being our best presentation and doubles and triples shot our numbers up fast. Nice average size to the fish and the final tally included a small Atlantic and a nice Laker with the rest being Browns. Not sure of the final numbers but we released quite a few and boxed our three man limit and released some more. Toad really enjoyed his first day on the lake and Richard is just a fish catchin maniac. Fished were stacked up in a small area in Gin clear water. Sunday we had another friend, Chris aka Traveling man join the party. Got out the chute and those NW winds hit me in the puss again. Can't catch a break. Three weeks straight now. Sunday we had some color to the water so my hopes were high. Got on our fish from Saturday and only did 2 on our first pass through. Make a long story short I found those fish had spread out and we had a blast at their expense. Again we tripled up at one point adn a couple of doubles in the mix. Took fish from 4 fow to about 30. Sticks early, spoons later then back to sticks kept them coming in the boat. Again, lost count but everybody wanted to take home meat so we had a good box at the end with one dandy that I was lucky enough to be on the rod for.
  20. Good point and good post Andy. Used to piss me off to no extent what guys would do to those little LL to post big numbers on the message boards. Thanks Glen
