  1. Sounds good. I'm hoping to do a winter trip or two to Cayuga/Seneca. Good luck if you make it out. We did plenty of trout today but they were on the small side, probably 14 or 15 Rainbows and one Brook Trout.
  2. GOT POWER BACK Dave I fish my local ponds until they ice up or the ramps get snowed in. I usually fish a different pond every weekend. Tomorow morning we will be on Big Alum in Sturbridge. Last Saturday, the day of the storm we were on Lake Buel in Monteray. Glen
  3. Yup, small boat. Still no power. Maybe tomorrow. Going fishing either way.
  4. Was fishing last Saturday when the storm hit. Built fast and hard. Towing the boat home through the mountains of the Berkshires, that already had over 1/2 a foot in a couple hours really sucked but we made it home. No electricity since, hopefully tomorrow maybe Saturday. Glen
  5. Late Birthday wishes Big Dave. No power since last Saturday. Power at work now and maybe at home tomorrow. Glen
  6. As well as doubling the life of the wire, barring any kinks that is. I run Okumas and Shimano Tolaras. The Okumas are OK but the Shimanos are by far the best I've used. If you allow loose wire on the Okumas, it can get caught between the roller and frame. Keep tension on the wire at all times, which should be done anyway, and it's not an issue. Good luck. Glen
  7. Get a fuel/water seperater with one input from tank and two outlets to motors. I run a 2 cycle main and a four stroke kicker this way. Glen
  8. Sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers. Glen and Kelly
  9. Happy birthday Rod. Hope it was a good one. Glen
  10. Go with 50 or even 60 LB Power Pro. Your reels will hold plenty of line and the heavier line will help with fleas. Glen
  11. I bought the previous model Furuno. The 582 which is now the 585. Started with a transome mount transducer and upgraded to the through hull. That made a big difference in the performance of the unit 10 years of completely trouble free use and if theres fish down there I mark them period. Never read or heard anything negative about Furuno and if and when I have to replace it, I will go with the 585. Good luck in your search. A good FF is worth it's weight in gold. Glen
  12. Pulled the boat Sat. morning Before. 15 minutes later using nothing but Slimy and pressure wash. Partly done on one side. Again nothing but slimy and pressure wash
  13. Sorry for your loss Ray. Glen
  14. I know of this motor. It's nice. If you need it, don't hesitate to buy. Good luck Joe. Have a good winter. Glen
  15. Nice to hear of good deeds when so much of what we hear is bad. Thanks for the post Bill.
  16. If your not getting them in shallow don't be afraid to check that 40-60 fow range. If your not marking them run something just off bottom. Good luck Glen
  17. Interesting. I've been doing my boat with it for quite a few years and never had any growth left on it. Do my 25 footer in about an hour and a quarter and it's in the water from as soon as the ice goes off the Little Salmon until the end of October. Takes everything off the lower unit of the outboards as well with one application and they are painted aluminum. Mike at Mikes marina uses it on dozens of boats every season with no issues. He's the guy who turned me on to it. The one time it didn't work well was when I left my sprayer at home and tried brushing it on. Didn't work worth crap. I spray it on in a fine mist. About the only thing I can tell you is I do the bottom within a few hours of when I pull it and I do it in four sections. I spray it on a 1/4 of the boat and pressure wash. I don't let it dry on the bottom. Muric acid is brutal. Take every precaution if you use it. Good luck Glen
  18. Spray it with Slimy Grimy and pressure wash. Very easy. Glen
  19. Happy Birthday Mark. Many more. Glen
  20. Happy birthday Hank and many more. Thanks for all the help you hand out to us guys throughout the year and the work you do here on the board. Glen
  21. Plastic Tank, I always fill it, add Stabil, fish a couple hours and winterize. I fill it to prevent condensation. NEVER had an issue in the spring. Glen
  22. Not really. You can catch plenty of lakers on both.... And you can catch plenty of Salmon on both. Glen
