  1. Looking for a full swim platform to put on my 1996 seaswirl striper i/o. Anybody have one for sale or have a good link to buy one from?
  2. Someone told me that the process of removing the sulfur from the diesel is what is driving the cost up over gas. Purely bullcrap I am sure. Try buying fuel in my area of good ole New York state. Hang on, because it is going to get much worse!
  3. Traveling man, I offered to help pay for the trophy but I never was contacted as to how much or who to send it to. I still will. I dont want to take credit for anything I didnt do. Let me know if I can help out. The lake is really low. I was up this weekend working on the camp. Freekin' geese everywhere.
  4. Those fish are awesome. Looks like a blast.
  5. Just wanted to thank you Bill for an excellent seminar at Gander Mountain in Johnson City last night. Very detailed information presented in a professional manner. I learned an immense amount of info regarding spring brown trout fishing. I cant wait to apply what I learned this spring. It was good to see you in person after 20 some years. Thanks again Bill.
  6. Nice perch guys! Looks like a tasty dinner!
  7. I feel your pain. I cant understand why Lowrance doesnt have better customer service. I bet they lose huge amounts on future purchases from existing customers. I will never buy another Lowrance product just because of the frustration when trying to contact them. I had a simple installation cable question that I had to just figure out myself. I never did talk to a human. I have waited up to 45 minutes.
  8. I am feeling it too salmonite. I will scratch the itch in a week or two.
  9. I bet that would start a feeding frenzy! (until a Pike or Pickerel shows up and scatters them) Pic is of a Seneca lake bonus fish! Hope it works
  10. I would aviod drilling the tube stock if you can help it. That can make a wicked weak spot if done in certain areas.
  11. Looks like they are doing a fantastic job. Cant wait to see the finished job!
  12. Get a piece of aluminum or stainless tube stock the desired diameter (so it will make up the difference needed around the support tube) and cut them to 2 inches or so. Then rip them length wise (2") so you have four pieces. (two halves) Put the pieces on either side of the tube and then mount the clamp/holders on that. Hope this helps. I hope I understood what you were explaining.
  13. The lead teardrops I use are really hard to find. They are really small but fairly fat and relatively heavy. I am not even sure of what weight they are. I would say about four times the weight of a small ice fishing jig. I know if it is windy I am screwed and have to change tactics. I will try to post a picture of one. Maybe someone will know of another place to get them.
  14. I dont mean to laugh, but that is a pretty funny post. That has to be tough. I wonder if a Garanimal concept for lures would work. I think a small abbreviation like what was suggested is a good idea. Good luck and no offensive.
  15. I only use teardrop shaped tiny jigs with fatheads. That is the only weight I use. Thanks for the suggestion of 2 inch plastics
  16. Thanks Ray, I didnt know how to do that exactly! I may be trading this in on an Amberjack.
  17. Full listing and details with picture on page 5
  18. Storm warning, sorry for the late response. I just saw your reply. The duck hunting was good. Lots of ducks in the area at that time. Tons of redheads and buffleheads. Good numbers of widgeon although they were super wary and we never got a shot at one of those. Shot a few gadwalls. Shot a few nice pintails also. I never saw any broadbills. Oldsquall were all over the place on our way out to the blind but we never saw any while we were hunting. btw, the blind was an easy 10 miles out in the middle of the bay. Lots of Brant and we knocked the heck out of those. Tried to blast a few of those miserable swans but didnt have big enough lead, er I mean steel to bring them down. You could hear the shot smacking them. We had a great time. Those local guys on that island are some littering fools! They throw everything in that water and never think twice about it.
  19. Your right about the tight lipped perch fisherman on Seneca. I usually make it up a few times in March myself. I will tell you what I know. I usually go out of Lodi point. You dont usually have to go far to get into them from there. Just North of the launch about 200 yards is a small bay that usually produces good perch. Look for a transition from mud to a subtle weed line in around 10-18 feet of water. I have also had good luck just to the south of the launch about the same distance and depth. I like to use small teardrop shaped jigs in purple, yellow, chartruese, pink and brown. The jigs I use are hard to find and have hair that corresponds with the head color. I tip them with good sized fat head minnows and work them just off of the bottom. I like to slow drift fish or electric motor around a bit until I find good sized perch (10-14") Once you get a couple good ones, anchor very quietly above them (they are easily spooked by the anchor and such) within casting distance. If you get into them, stay with the school, fish fast. You will be amazed at how close some of those lazy sob's will come to you to catch fish. I have also launched out of Severne point which is just about across the lake from lodi. I dont have any other real honey holes to let you in on. If I get up there in March I will post any info when I return. Be careful, that lake can get nasty.
  20. Thats cool Jeff! I have been using the atomic tourny ties for a couple of years now. Those babies really hook up. BTW your bro is the man hauling in that barn door with a handline!
  21. I noticed that too. I am up there most of the summer, I will spot and broadcast his spots
  22. I feel your pain. Two years ago I shot a drake Eurasian Widgeon and a nice drake Pintail to have mounted. Took them to have them mounted and 6 months later the taxidermist doesn't know where they went! Not a huge deal except that Eurasian widgeon is extremely rare bird I shot in the middle of the Chesapeake bay. I since shot another drake pintail but I will never get a chance at another E. Widgeon.
