  1. Exactly. Being in the right water is what matters. Elimination of non-productive water is the key to success out there.
  2. It’s on Facebook… Link is below Link to listing
  3. Yes. AFW and Blood Run are the best ones I have found. I have both on the boat. The AFW has a slightly smaller diameter than the BR.
  4. I would focus more on construction type vs. age. A boat built with composite stringers and transom can give you peace of mind when looking at a boat with some years on her. Several manufacturers began building with composite materials in the late 90’s. Aquasport, Pro-Line, HydraSports to name a few. Older wood construction boats can show well but it’s what you cannot see that comes back to bite you. Always get a survey.
  5. Needs to hook up to an engine reader. The software may reveal issues.
  6. Yessir- 6” usually in bright colors, Red, Orange, Yellow, etc…
  7. Here is what I have been using. The older ones used to have a yellow tube on the clip. They have eliminated that over the years. https://www.fishusa.com/Outdoor-Scene-Planer-Board-Releases/
  8. I use these and the Clippers. These ones are Outdoor Scene planer board releases.
  9. Is this what you are looking for? https://www.fish307.com/content/diagram_pdf/Cannon-Mag-10-STX-schematic.pdf
  10. I have 4 Okuma 30 size reels for my wire rods. 2 have 1000’ 30lb Blood Run wire with 350’ of 50lb braid backer. 2 have 1000’ AFW 30lb wire with 300’ of 65lb braid backer. I take notes on what spool up for each rod so I don’t have to guess every time I fill a reel.
  11. 350’ 45Lb Copper on 55L 450’ 50Lb (.014”) Braid Backer 55L Reel is too small for 450’ 45Lb Copper (my opinion) I have an extra Solterra 20L reel that would fit 400-500 copper nicely if you are interested. It’s brand new.
  12. Where are you located?
  13. Exactly what Legacy said. X2. I am one that always has a line in the ice water. Produces for us consistently.
  14. Yes. Duane is great! (716) 573-6341
  15. Sorry. Sold.

  17. Sold. Thank you.
  18. I have the spring antenna on the boat. It’s brand new but I can connect you with a guy that sells the Scotty type antenna or I can grab one from him if you want the unit. The Scotty style antennas are $50 There is also 400’ of 150# test coated cable that will come with it. I put it on in July/2024. I’ll pull that off the rigger come March/April.
  19. For sale. Complete unit. Just serviced/calibrated last summer by Duane at Big Blue. Head unit is basically brand new. Extras include sun cover, extra white housing, spare probe gaskets and speed wheel. I may have a flush mount kit as well. $250 The Antenna and cable are still on the boat. I can provide you with that once I have the boat out of storage. End of March/Early April. Reason for selling is Im redoing my helm. I already have a Fish Hawk and Smart Troll II. Was going to add a Smart Troll sensor to a rigger to replace the Sub Troll. Don’t really need a 3rd speed/temp option. Or do I?
  20. Nice work Lou!
  21. Rolmops- I’m redoing my helm over the winter. I ended up going with all Simrad units. I have a Garmin 93 UHD 93sv (2 or 3yrs old) with GT56UHD Transducer I specifically used this unit as a chartplotter I will have this up for sale if you are interested. The transducer is still on the boat but I have the unit at home. I can get the demo mode going. It will control your autopilot and has NMEA2K. No radar capability
  22. Great sinkers. Excellent quality.
  23. Yep. Warm water is inside. This will change with winds/currents etc but will give you an idea of what’s going on. Without a fish hawk/sub troll you will have to look for bait and marks and fish them. I will say that we have taken several decent fish this year way out of temp. In the warm water above the cold water. Keep in mind that as we progress through August and into September, temp will become less important for the staging kings. Structure often times becomes more important for these staging fish.
  24. There is an information/data buoy off Oswego in 65/70’ of water. The buoy has a temp chain that reads temp every 3 meters of depth. here is a link. Seagull Buoy Data
  25. If you want to “stack” a spoon over F/F or meat you are better off putting the stacked bait on a separate rod. Stacking on the same rod would get pretty messy with a greater chance of losing the fish, especially if the stacked spoon gets hit. Not worth it. Run a separate rod.
