  2. No contradiction with Obama. He did exactly what he said he would do, and based on the facts of his early acquaintances and their hatred for the American way,...yeah it was clear he meant to do what he said, Change America. Right down to this forum. Now we have hermit, and who knows who calling out haters. Thinking for himself. Are we all not thinking for all Americans anymore? That's what division is, and we loose. I think we all want no more nine elevens, Kate Steinle murders, people coming here 100,000 at a time where terrorist exist and blend in. Let's face it, all of us would like to be nice to the world, but would you like to go where the sub humans live and have dinner there?...same reason I will not go downtown Chicago areas for dinner. There are sub humans there, we know where they are, so don't let them come have dinner with you. Reference to war in trade, not war, unless winning shoddy expensive products at the expense of 60 billion dollars trade deficit lost is the marker for who won that war... Thinking for America is not thinking for yourself, unless the latter includes accepting losses in life, liberty, and happiness. I don't believe anyone here wants that. Sure Trump is contradictory. You can go back to 2001, he was Republican then Democrat, then Republica again. Many contradictions floating through anyone's life. He didn't even want to commit his run for president to either party at first. He had been each party personally. For now, he has started in the first week doing most of everything he said he would do. Hermit, I empathize with you, and surely care for America and all who live as Americans, but this is a different kind of ride for us all right now. I feel like..... We were on a slow train in a tunnel with no light at the end. Now we just we just strapped in with John Force, and 330 miles per hour to the winners circle...just hope the drag chute works to celebrate it. Edited to correct the trade deficit figure to 60 billion not 16 billion....that was the amount in cash given by Obama to America's enemy state of Iran for nothing in return. Thanks for reminding me Tom (longline ) MONSTER? cent frum my notso smartphone

  6. I don't know pap. My guess is folks buy a boat for the boats purpose and the trailer is not a major consideration. Manufacturers package boats with trailers and just assume everyone will be good with the roller versions. They buy the package from dealer stock, or if used, that's what was already under it. Folks don't often think about the form of trailer and loading, launching chores, ease, or necessity, they are focused on the water time mostly and adapt to the trailer as is. Rollers may have some distinct advantages over bunks, but not for my use. I was once at the restraunt at Point Breeze and watched an untethered, unhooked Tow Boat on roller trailer, launch on the concrete one evening. Before it got near the water. Couldn't believe what I was seeing! Hope the distressed boat in the lake wasn't expecting a fast recovery. The bunks just work better for me, and I would specify that style for myself, as important as the boat itself. cent frum my notso smartphone
  7. Power loading isn't needed all the time. Glide in at idle in gear to the trailer will suffice to lodge the hull into the bunks. Getting familiar with the depth of the bunks is beneficial to gliding in under idle power. Yes you can still use the winch just as a roller trailer. I always trim the prop way up, then all the thrust goes up to surface, and little chance of blowing gravel out, but good for blowing seaweed out for the next guy and he gets less trailer foul. 8. I want to protest....isn't there some riot with looting going on yet? ..... Where's my support group? NOT MY SUPER BOWL!!!.... cent frum my notso smartphone
  9. Solo launch and load, bunks are my choice. Like pap said, the boat stays with the trailer unhooked on the ramp. Two guys, it's the fastest in and out. One in the boat driving on, one in the vehicle towing out to stage area. Drive on drive away, it stays. Shallow launch is a disadvantage. You need to back further in to float the boat. Some ramps are short, and the axles can go off a concrete ramp. What pap said is spot on, even trimming the prop up to help lever the bow up the slope of the trailer bunks. cent frum my notso smartphone

  13. Agreed. Millions of acres of corn and soy bean fields are standing quietly under thousands of these out west. No one complains and no natural resources ruined. No state parks or lakes or residential property in the way of the projects like here. Many thousand migratory birds will die passing by these in this location. There are places for these, just not here. Still doesn't negate the fact that these will become eyesore derelict junk in 20 years. Too bad there's always dirty money tied up in it... started as yours and mine...mismanaged and manipulated by lobbyists and disingenuous developers. When they say these things can be taken down and reversed, you better be prepared to pay again, and if it's your private property, you will front the entire bill. The subsidizing is only for construction not for demolition. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I like Larry's #6!....I'm sending my drone to go spy on a Yankee Troller boat. That boat has secrets to be exploited! Now that could really ruin the fishery... However the crew of this boat could very well be the next cover story of Victoria's Secret Lures catalogue [emoji7][emoji41] Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Ahh, ok, well you're closer to Oregon inlet but if you drive down to Hatteras village you won't regret it. It's a cool place and lots of fishing related stuff. Very reasonable charter cost too! Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Matt, I have surf fished the outer banks from avon to ocracoke for years usually in the fall during October. There are a few things that have changed down there over the last few years. Number one, don't forget to get the marine fishing license for North Carolina. Number 2 if you can, bring 4 wheel drive for best access to the beach fishing. You don't want to walk to something like cape point (usually great fishing but very popular) about 2 miles in soft sand. There are some good access point however by foot along the route 12 between Salvo and Buxton. Cross the dunes to the ocean, or find deep holes near shore in the sound side for trout and puppy drum. Use Google satellite image and you can find deep holes and dredged channels for deep water there (darker blue). However if you plan to use a vehicle, be sure to get it registered with the National Park. Office located on the light house site at Cape Point south of Avon. Follow signs to the lighthouse. The office is there. You will need to get a week pass to drive the beach for 50 bucks, watch a short video info, and bring your driver license in. It's expensive yes, but if you want good access to all the beach that is open, it is necessary. ATVS are not permitted at all anymore. Some beach closures to vehicles happen due to turtle nesting, or endangered bird nesting. There are several ramps over the dunes to access the beach by vehicle. Air down your tires to 15 lbs and you will be good to go in 4x4. Carry your rods in a rack or just lay them in the vehicle so the tips don't break. Bring a decent cooler for your bait and catch. Buckets and sand Spikes to hold your rods on the beach so you don't get sand in the reels. Wash them good with fresh water too after use. In June you will want a beach umbrella cause the sun will bake you! Watch out for sunburnt feet too! The best access to deep sea fishing or sound fishing is from Teaches Lair in Hatteras village. Down near the coast guard station. Many good charters located there and inshore for the sound. http://www.hatteraslanding.com/things-to-do/teachs-lair These guys are all great captains. The store can hook you up with anything that works for the beach. Talk to "Jam" , he can give you some very useful information on the bite, and all that you need to do it up right. My personal favorite spots on the sound are behind the coast guard station. Good puppy drum and trout. Go to the very end of the pavement past the ferry docks and station, and drive about 2 miles down the sand trail to Hatteras inlet. Good spot for flounder and puppies, and specs. On an outgoing tide. Your smaller spinning rods and gear will work fine for that with curly grub jigs Small shrimp and live finger mullet. For the mullet bring a cast net about 4 or 5 feet. You can catch hundreds of them yourself as they cruise the shoreline. Matt, give me a pm. I can let you borrow anything you want for the beach. Even the transport rack for your rods and cooler. It fits in a 2 inch reciever hitch. I just in Lyndonville not too far. I plan to go down in May. Staying in Buxton so maybe I can give you a heads up on some stuff. Fishing the ocean is fun and very easy with a vehicle equipped for the beach, I hope you can use a 4x4. Good luck, let me know if you can use anything, I have everything...Mark Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. True enough! I thought ery seriously about it...but the work in carrying all the wood out of that spot behind the barn in swampy spot would have been too much. No good access to it and the best fell would have put it on neighbors property over a creek. It was my own miscalculation while flying a predetermined flight. It uses meters in elevation rather than feet. I just didn't convert proper and flew right into the tree top. 15 meters going to way point 2 at 25 meters 300 meters away....tree in the middle...75 feet...maybe 21 or 22 meters tall!...crash! Anyway the tree still lives! Lol.. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Just got a drone for Christmas. Flew it twice. The next 5 days I spent trying to get it from 75 feet up in a cottonwood tree. Thank goodness I still need my fishing skills!.....to get it down! Surf rod to the rescue! Wind sucks though. Took 300 casts and several hundred 3 and 4 oz. Sinkers and some old lug nuts and plumbing pieces launched up there to get it on the right branch....200 feet of paracord and 200 feet of 1/2 inch rope! I'll use mine for ice fishing...deliver beers to friends with gps coordinates. Take a picture of their smiling faces and fish and scare off the eagle at hemlock when he tries to snatch my fish off the ice again! 19. They're still trying to desecrate the shoreline along the Lake Ontario from Niagara to Braddock. Apex meetings still going on. One scheduled at my sportsman's Club on Lakeshore this coming Tuesday at 7pm. I'm not going to be able to attend due to work, but they don't want to hear my opinion of their pinwheels. I know from experience the eyesore these are in 20 years. Traveling through Tehachapi pass in California will turn your stomach. Imagine the garbage and junk left near your lakeside state parks...puke! People that want these junk should be the only ones subsidizing the falacy of promises these development companies give you. Give them an inch and they take more than miles....how bout all your access and rights to private and public property. Another Obummer force it down your throat. Gave the IRS power over Congress to fund this crap. Not their job! Want higher electric bills? ...not me...what's wrong with the electric and heat I have now?...it's still on... and always works when I flip the switch! No surprises in my bill... 22. I think it would work best in summer. I was in Quebec fishing with an Indian local who worked the lodge there. He made sounds in the water to attract fish closer to shore where we fished a sand bar at evening. Snapped his fingers into the water surface to make a popping/suckling kind of sound. Seemed to work as we didn't have to cast as far out! Was funny, cause I just mentioned in passing that we needed to sing a fishing song and dance to get the fish to bite. He didn't speak much English but understood my joking and took it seriously as he did that action as his actual knowledge. Joking for me, but not so much for him, as he showed me his trick on the fish. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. 8A has been tough. A lot of nocturnal deer this year. You did well Rob! Hundreds of hours in the making! Perseverance and endeavor pays in spades! Matt said you pulled your shirt off??? We are gonna hafta come up with an Indian name fir you like Ray has..... Omganothershortfatbaldone! ...now work on your bad spelling and you will be close! Congratulations to you! 24. Pap!...you da man! Glad for ya! Great job getting that deer and fixing it up yourself my friend. That's was a great accomplishment when you got to overcome the physical difficulty you carry. That's a great buck and a fine looking rifle! Looks like late 60s or early 70s? Remington woodsman? Thanks for the story and pics! Mark Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Exactly right!...my buddy used to get all negative about me carrying a pocket full of peanuts in the shell. He said "what's that for?...a way to find your trail going out if you get lost?..you know, follow the trail of shells! LOL!No, it's for curbing my appetite, BUT, it also puts peanut smell in your breath and deer like peanuts!... you, however, eat jerky! You smell like a meat eater predator! He said cracking peanuts is gonna scare the deer! No...again...the squirrels crack acorns all the time. The cracking sounds, maybe, raises curiosity on deer nearby that I don't even see! Successful on many days..he eats peanuts now. Also knew where I was standing on my hunts...oops! 😆 Mark Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
