  1. Mat. Weed mat. Fighting fish and waves makes it hard to text lol
  2. Beware of weed mays 240-200’. 311’ took two more kings. Major came on meat rig down 100’.
  3. Rip and miss on chute 200’ weighted steel with flasher/fly
  4. Set up off Wilson now heading west. One shaker at 250’. Temp is cool 55 degrees down 58’
  5. I will take it Brian.
  6. There are places around each port that fish end up at during roll overs. Savvy charter captains know these spots. I may have said too much ....my life may be in danger bringing you this information.
  7. Bury the net in the cuddy, get some tangles and start working on untangling, check lines for fleas and shakers.
  8. I will be out Friday-Sunday
  9. The good news is there is food o'plenty this year in the woods.. I went for a scouting walk on some state land Sunday and found hickory nuts dropping, acorns in tree tops, a good apple crop and the corn has recovered from the lack of rain in June. Lots of good sized tracks from hold-over deer due to mild winter. It should be a good year.
  10. There is a theory, less bait-hungry fish-easier to catch. Also, I think we have had some good natural reproduction on kings to supplement the reduced stockings. I have caught more three year olds this year than any year I can remember, and yet I have not cracked 22 lbs.
  11. That’s a fish IMO. I would think dragging copper would not have those acute angles as shown. A boat shadow is probably not that different than a bait ball shadow.
  12. I was trying to figure out the last time a 30lb fish has come over the gunnels. When I did the math I couldn’t help but be a little shocked that it has been seven years. Any doubt that the winters of 2014 and 2015 would have a lasting effect have been erased from my mind. The mild winter this past year and super warm summer should have a good effect on bait numbers. I am starting to see algae blooms on satellite images of the lake which I have not seen since 2013. Lake Erie smelt have rebounded this year so here’s hoping lady Ontario is on a course to start spitting out 30’s with more regularity.
  13. I believe if you add peroxide to the concoction, they clean up in ten minutes. Tarnish slides over to aluminum
  14. License sale pushed back until week of August 10th
  15. The salmon are darkening!! The salmon are darkening!!!!
  16. Gary you have been found guilty of driving over fish to find fish on both lakes. Tighter on both lakes.
  17. Generally speaking, I try to run into current. First, I want all my gear straight out the back, second, it saves on gas, third, big fish are lazy so if given the same lure action, lazy fish won’t want to exert as much energy in theory. As others have stated, any given day, the fish may want lures presented in a certain direction. If you are over fish, keeping your bait in the zone on a trolling pass as long as possible means trolling slower ie. going into the down current.
  18. Good stuff. I look forward to deer harvest pictures this year.
  19. Quality targets
  20. Swearing and middle finger wagging will get less of a response compared to a little toot on the air horn. I can’t believe anyone would fight over a lake trout but hey ....it’s your floor boards.
  21. Location dependent so fishing the screen helps. I could tell you I was fishing a different part of the lake (Niagara) and the mini rollover drove fish deep that put them in contact with some bottom smelt. Our high divers in low 60’s temp never got a sniff. All fish came deep below the thermocline. The puzzle that day was aided by the fact that I noticed marks near the bottom on the drop. Knowing it would take awhile for those fish to activate and lift with the changing conditions, we left after two swipes on the drop.
  22. Your best video yet.
  23. The colors on that Atlantic are crazy cool
  24. I would agree on weekends you would want the state launch, but during the week you won’t have too much to deal with at the black north launch
  25. I thought we put together a pretty good day off the bar yesterday, but I believe you won best on lake award for your efforts. Great job Brian and team!
