  8. WoW I gotta say that is one of the best "postings" I've read. Really felt like I was there. Way to go Ray! That boy has now entered "hunting manhood" and will be sharing that experience with all his buddies and hopefully his grandkids. Is is sure nice to see that people still do "The Right Thing". Good luck, I hope ya get that Trophy in Indiana. Thanks for sharing! Shawn
  9. We're seeing the same in Pike, Wyoming Co. as Rob indicated with a "classic rut" brewing. So far I have seen smaller bucks "jousting" and not at all interested in the many doe around. Saw bucks together the first weekend and none together this past weekend. I had two mature bucks at separate times Saturday evening walk right by groups of doe feeding. The first one hung up at 60 yds and never presented a shot. I watched the other much bigger definitely wall hanger buck make a scrape at 50 yds and started to walk toward me when a fourwheeler came up over the knoll clearing the field of deer. Scrapes and rubs are increasing daily. Normally we would have seen the beginning of the chase phase this past weekend, but no indications of such where we were. Still the best time of year to be out there. Good luck to all. Shawn

  13. I'll be in my favorite "corner" stand in Wyoming County. When my Uncle Roy was alive, no one used the stand except for him and when he got so he couldn't climb up there anymore we constructed a ground blind below for him. He took a lot of deer from that stand and rarely missed. uncle Roy started me bow hunting since my Dad didn't bowhunt and I have a lot of great memories. Since his death a few years ago, I start and end every season in "his" stand and pay my respects. I manage to harvest a deer from there every so often in memory of him. Good luck to all this season - be safe. Shawn
