I run the same Motor 9.9 Yamaha High Thrust I am shure the 8hp would work for you my boat is easy 7000lbs and the 9.9 will push it up and over 8ft + waves on Ontario (I found out in Scotty Tournament). The E.Z Steer has worked great so far and if its hooked up the way it should be you never have to take it off. You don't need a tiller for the throttle control. As for Batt life I only run two good marine batts that are hooked to the 9.9. I have sterio, autopilot, two sonars, 4 riggers, radar, two subtrolls, and two vhf radios, and run the hell out of the raw water wash down with no problems. Sean

I can not find the name of this spoon on the Dreamweaver site. I purchased it in 2010 and thought it was one of the Target Tip colors in SS. I need some more its the last one I have. Thanks Sean

Like Ray said I shoot the Pro Hunter with 150 grins. I have good glass on it. If I had great glass I could shoot farther, but im not going with a 1000 scope on a 800 dollar gun. I have killed deer at 250 with it and practice out to 300 yds. Past 150 you need a range finder like archery a few yaards makes a diff. Also if you don't have a good rest under you your done, I use a shootng stick in my stands when I hunt with it. Sean

Yamaha 9.9 high thrust model, Merc is good to I had one and I still have one on 16ft aluminum boat they were both cold blooded took for ever to warm up. The yamaha will push my heavy Parker into 8 foot waves with no problem. I have the easy steer and it works great. Im shure some one on the forum has your set up and can give ya more info. Sean -
If you want to have the motors connected use the Garmin GHP-10. Its not cheap but it will hold a corse at any speed. I had the Raymarine unit and it would kick off if I went slower than 2.5 That was on a 2006 model, I don't know how the new ones are. One thing I do know is when I had a question on instalation when I called Garmin I was talking to some one in less than two minutes. Not the case when I have called Lowrance, or Raymarine. Sean

Just arrest a few of them and the word gets out. The DEC, State, or County police can all enforce the same laws. It just depends on if you get a cop that knows some game laws. ENCON laws are my bread and butter this time of year and the DEC are a good group of guys to work with. They are busy now and are getting calls at all hours even off duty. It does tick you off to see the same dirt bags hunting all day while you work to pay for it. Word of mouth will work better than any posted sign.

My dad and brotherinlaw had a good weekend. My dad got to drop the big eight I was hunting for in Bow season. The buck had 11 inch tines and was well over 200 pounds. My brotherinlaw shot a nice ten point yesterday morning. I had to work but I will be out after them this week. It is nice to see some older deer around in our area. The lack of hunters and all of the posted property is making for some older deer.

My brother inlaw and I got to spend a few mornings in the woods this past week bow hunting. Friday morning my brother inlaw called a big eight point into 7 yards and put him down. I didnt get any pics of the deer in the field but I have one from when we caped him out. I got to hunt monday morning and this time I took my camera. We had some snow on the ridge I was hunting monday, and I was getting to hunt a new stand I had hung in a bedding area that was easy to sneak into. After having some does and a small buck come in and bed down, a red fox showed up around 9am. I wanted to get a pic of him in the snow, so i got my camera out. Just as I went to take his pic a twig broke twenty yards behind me and I looked over my shoulder to see the buck. By the time I got the camera hung up and my bow down the deer passed through my shooting lane. I got on the calls but the deer was dumb to the world. When he got about 90 yards out I hit him with my BIG Grunt Tube and he came running. The deer came straight down my shooting lane head on so I had to take a quartering shot at about 10 yards. The arrow went just behind the shoulder and exsited on the opposite flank. The deer ran around 100 yards and piled up. I went and got my brother inlaw and in just the short time I was gone that red fox had gone to work on the bucks hind quarter. I would've thought it was coyotes if I didnt see the fresh fox tracks in the snow.

Thanks Guys That is some great stuff Ray Spent part of the day on Canandaigua lake the 30 mph west wind and front blowing out made for some slow fishing three laker, a bow, and two browns. Thanks again guys. -
Great News, I hope to see ya both back on the lake soon
-
Got to work also Goog luck to you all. The weather is going to be great and the bow and salmon fishing is hot. You will still find some big female lakers out suspended over deep water. I wish I could give ya a run for your money

If you want bows this time of year you need to find the bait out deep 300+, look for the bait pods in the 40 to 60 fow range. Your bows will be in a small part of the water colum. If you are fishing in the 70 to 80 fow range your down temps will be to warm for the bows and salmon. You will catch some dink bows and salmon in that water but not the good ones. Some days on cayuga the warm water will stack up all the way out to 180. Once you get out over the deep water the t cline gets higher as does the bait and fish. Nice job on the fish and good luck finding the Bows

Nice fish Jason im glad to see it stayed on the board. I still have the pic on my phone its a slob. Sean -
I have two new Cannon Mag 10s the Tournament high speed models. When I un pluged the rigger the male ends of the plug stayed in the female end. I had a trip out so I had to cut the power cord ends and wire them together. Any one know were I can get them fixed they are under waranty. I dont want to have to send them back to cannon but I shouldn't have to pay for the power cord and plug. Sean

Have fun guys, I will be stuck at work . You should have some big fish at the scales. Good Luck -
Fished Cayuga out of Ithaca the last two days. The North/West wind and major drop in temps made for some tough conditions. Wednesday we started around 7am and fished to 12, then I was back out from 1:30 to 5:00 for an evening trip. We did 10 good fish in the morning Salmon and Lakers. Then in the evening, in the pounding North wind we put 6 good fish in the boat mostly salmon and one big Laker 12.6lbs. I took the same group out Thursday morning. The weather sucked big time but we fished hard all day from 7am to 3pm. We ran North to Taughanock set up and trolled North into the wind then Back South. We found all of the active fish in one spot out over deep water mid lake. We ran boards with copper and core, 4 wire divers and two riggers. Most of the fish took spoons and sticks with only a few on flys. I had 4 guys out and we finished with 19 legal fish and several short salmon and bows. The guys limited out on Lakers for the smoker and were one silver fish shy of a limit. Small cranks and spoons on core/coper did the trick on the salmon and bows. Most of the lakers hit the riggers at 80 and the wire divers out 170, 180, 185, and 220. My grape pearl R and R tore them up again as well as the stinger penguin. And I would like to give a big thanks to the guy that pulled out of his dock just North of the Scout camp and made a run at my boat. I was the only boat on the lake and you still managed to cut off three of my church boards. I lost the boards, lures, leader, 10 color, 6 color and a 300 copper . The best part was when the guy noticed what he had done he guned it and made shure he took my power pro backing, before his prop cut my line. Sean
