If I get my boat back I will get some pics for ya. One thing you will want to get is a couple extra servo motors. I ordered two for like 5 bucks on line. I usualy go threw one a season. Also put in a power shut off or the servo will always have power running to it. Where are you located if your in my area I will take a look at it for you.

Thats a nice boat Rick looks great. Sean -
Thats the plan Iceman, Got to have the 200 hp fixed prior to trading it in. Ill run it on 1 year warranty on new power head then see about repowering with Honda. New motor is going to be 20 to 22k so its going to take a little time. Got a good friend who has that Honda and he loves it. Will like to see that Hewscraft, It was down to the Hewscraft or the Parker when I got mine they make a good boat. Lots of them in Alaska when I was up that way last summer. Sean

Dose the Lowrance HDS-10 Fishfinder/GPS compare to Raymarine
Hookedup replied to Knotlost's topic in This Old Boat
Like I said I have the HDS-10 and the HDS-5 networked together. I have the HDS-5 in the back of the boat the zoom went out in it. I was worried it would take for ever for Lowrance to fix it. They were great I called them mailed it in and had a new unit in ten days. Out of all three im shure they will all work for you. Just depends on how much $ you want to spend. Three years from now your new unit will be an old unit, and you will find something new ya want -
Good Job over that way The water is still so cold it is hard to get them going. The bows are still a little layed up from spawning and the brown numbers have been down the last two years on Canandaigua. One of these mornings you will hit that South end and things will happen fast. Sean

I ordered the power head and should be fishing in two weeks. No help from Yamaha but I am not going to dwell on it forever. I sent some e-mails and letters and will continue. I am just ready to fish. That is if this weather turns around the wind is blowing big time now.

Nice job and report Sounds like a great vacation. As for the weather this has been one wet, cold and windy spring. Sean -
Hi Guys $6100 for parts and labor. They should have the power head in this week. So if all goes well I should be back out fishing by the end of next week. I am ready to get on the water and have some fun. Thanks Sean

Thanks Guys, I sent an e-mail for Yamaha today to my dealer who forwarded it to them. I atached a link to this forum. Sean

Thanks guys. Final word from Yamaha today is nothing will be covered. Like you guys stated this will be a long fight that I am not going to give up on. I may not make out in the end but many folks will be sick of my e-mails and letters. I am not willing to lose the summer and the wilson tournament with no boat so Owasco marine has a power head on the way and are going to help me out with labor charges. So I should be back on the water in two week but not with out having spent some major money. That is not going to stop me from going after my money from Yamaha. I will let you know what I come up with for contact e-mail information. All of you guys are great and I appreciate the help.

Thanks Guys. I contacted the dealer in CT where I purchased the boat he aslo contacted Yamaha along with Owasco marine who is working with me on the boat. Both dealers show me in the computer with a three year warranty and neither one spoke to Yamaha about my charter buisness. So this after noon I get a call from the head of customer service from Yamaha who informs me they will not cover any parts or labor. He also stated they found that I had a captains Lic and a web-site so thats how they discovered my commercial use. He didn't just give this info up but after talking him in circles it came out. So they went out of the way to do an investigation to screw me. I got the official download of hours 109 on the boat. I explained to the guy if you average out the months I had it on the water since 2009 it is 6.4 hours total use of that motor a month. His words (ya and that was some commercial use you are out of warranty). It was so obvious that he knew he was working me over and he was proud of it. I had a long talk with owner of Owasco marine who is going to make some more calls for me in morning to Yamaha. Like he said with the growing list of damaged parts a new power head would be my best bet in the long run. (Big$$) What pisses me off the most is if I had known about the commercial use warranty loop hole I would of purchased an extended warranty prior to the one year mark. One good thing about my line of work is I have a lot of good friends that are attornys but going that way does not look to promising. Well so long for now it was a long day at work. Sean

As you guys know my Yamaha Motor Crank went and the heads are shot. The motor only had 100 hours on it due to the fact I troll with the 9.9 high thrust Kicker. Well Owasco Marine calls me today with the bad news. I should mention they have been great to deal with and are good folks. Yamaha on the other hand are butt holes. They said due to the fact I run a charter buisness my warranty was only good for one year not three like my paperwork states. So Now I am up to 4000 to 5000 in just parts no labor. They put me out of business might as well strip my gear off the boat and let it be repoed. Sorry just needed to vent.

Get the church walleye boards. I beat the hell out of them and always have six to eight in the water run everything from flat line to 400 copper or 12 color core. I have two of the new big church tx 44 boards I dont care for them the will pull a lot of weight but you can drag a five pound fish for miles and not know he is on the line. They would work well for heavy copper and kings. I like my otter boards for 400 to 600 copper.
