  1. You want Auroralites! These boards will pull 600s w/ ease! http://www.auroralitestackle.com/planerboards.html
  2. As a 'weekend' fisherman recently stumped by the Oswego Kings I'm humbled by the performance of all the teams and of course I'm wowed by the number 1 performance of Team 'Crazy B****'. Way to go Ladies!
  3. Ok Tim, I'm 'officially' jealous now! Super job on the LOC fish guys! Great story & pics. -Andy
  4. Sounds good Tim, keep the reports coming. I'm hoping to get back up this week.-Andy
  5. We gave Oswego a go on Wens but just couldn't get it to happen, the pack made it a little challenging to change depths but everybody was pretty cooperative.
  6. Welcome aboard! Lots of great info & people here! -Andy
  7. Sounds good Bob! Thanks, -Andy
  8. Good going, sounds like you ran into a few tackle busting locomotives!
  9. Brett's is a good option! I've done business w/ them & no complaints, another option would be to get a pair of combos from one of LOU's supporting members who also offers a good deal on dipsy combos; http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/dip ... _combo.htm A word of caution about the Convectors though; since they started making them in China (several years now) many people experience problems w/ these reels after about a year or so of use. I've had far less trouble w. the Daiwa Sealine 47 LC, though it does not take in line as smoothly and rapidly as the Convector. There is simply no way around the fact that you get what you pay for, and if you have the means I'd actually suggest entertaining the idea of getting the Tekota 600 LC reels.
  10. Ditto what RR said above. No problem w/ coated cable & short stop. It's not really a big deal to swap out the cables & doesn't take long!

  12. The Finger lakes fishing community is truly blessed to have Scott at the wheel of these derbies. He puts a tremendous amount of time in to make sure these events go smoothly and that everybody feels like a part of it! Hats off to to you Scott, and thanks so much
  13. 13# Atomik torpedos will far out perform any pancake and reasonably priced too!
  14. It's not a secret (I was sticking it to Frisco on an old joke) I just drill out the bottom of a reg mag dipsy so I can make it fit onto a large SD. then I use SD's biggest ring. When I tried to get the SD w/ their 'bigger weight' to match a reg Mag dipsy's dive curve it just seemed to come up short, so I tried this and I'm happier w/ it. -Andy Yo, DButts http://slidediver.com/cart/home.php
  15. You might want to consider getting a good aftermarket chip for your gps plotter, that way you know where you are at on the map w/out a lot of figuring (sometimes it's best to be raising the riggers instead of wondering whether you should or shouldn't). I've got the Navionics Hot Maps Premium in my Lowrance Global 5200. This chip is also compatible w/ my little handheld gps that I use as a backup and other stuff. Navionics has a compatibility chart for matching maps w/ units. -Andy
  16. Hey Tom, that looks like a heck of a good time! Just gotta tell ya bout' the time we were bullhead fishing w/ the kids at my family's camp in the Berkshires and one of the unattended rods got dragged off the dock by a big one- long and short of it was we finally found it the next day while snorkeling and by gum we got the fish too!
  17. Vague response; I sent you a pm w/ my 'secret' directions for modifying the SD to achieve Mag dipsy performance levels
  18. I've got an 97' 19' Islander w/ the I/O, integrated kicker and an Autopilot. This boat can handle some pretty tough conditions and if it's too rough for my rig I guess I don't need to go out that bad!
  19. Good going guys Sounds like a blast! -Andy
  20. Tim, keep us in the loop on that 200-400 search. Hope to get out Tues... -Andy
  21. Same recommendation as years past; Cayuga. Launch at Myers & wet lines where the weed mats are scarce (check posts b/c this changes frequently). See you around- Andy
  22. DW Bloody death spoon & spinny w/ purple flies seem to work best on overcast days for me.
