    Is the boat kept in the water or on the trailer? Reason for the question is that in the 1980's especially a lot of boats kept in the water with no bottom paint developed gelcoat blisters. Correction to that at the time was repair/fill/sand the areas that were really bad and barrier coat/paint the bottom of the boat.

    Have owned several aluminums including a 22ft. I have a glass 20 ft now. There is no comparison to the ride of glass because of weight. Aluminum has gotten better as they have improved over time. But everyone has their own preferences. Towing kicks gas mileage down, often into the 12 mpg range or less. Not going to get around that one. And sure weight is also a factor in this but the vehicle is working harder to cover the same ground.

    It is early 80's-guessing 82-85. Should be a tag on the upper starboard transom or engraved on it. Your registration or title will show the year. Crestliner changed cabin design in 86 or 87, different style than this.

    Yamaha exited the stern drive business some years ago I believe after unsuccessfully trying to enter the market , so therefore my advice would be to scoop up as many parts as possible. Much like BMW entering in the 1980's.

    SOLD 11/1/2020 1977 Evinrude 4 hp twin cylinder standard shaft. Cosmetically excellent. I bought in 2011 or 2102, used a couple times the first season I had it, stored upright in the basement since. Started on 2nd pull today. Will come with a 3 gallon OMC gas tank, will need a new gas hose. $350.00 or reasonable offer. Will not come with stand. This motor is light weight so good for canoe, jon boat etc. Location Dunkirk NY.

    That explains a lot of it, that center narrow single lever is the tell-tale of a two stroke bracket. The Garelick or the Panther will be like night and day comparison.

    Hard to tell from the angle of the pictures but the first thing that jumps out at me is that it doesn't look as built as the Garelick or the Panther units.

    In 1990 Sea Nymph was part of the OMC boat group. So they all came with a factory dashboard and a from the factory Johnson or Evinrude and it sounds like it was repowered by the Merc so chances are that it is now an irrelevant part of 30 years of wiring spaghetti. And probably means very little at this point.

    I would get that battery tested, likely it is three or four years old and one of the first things that is a sign is it just doesn't have full capacity.

    Three suggestions for you, Laings Outboards North Tonawanda NY, Parma Marine, Parma Ohio, (long time OMC dealer) and MarineEngine.com I have had success getting obsolete parts through all of them for Evinrude and Johnson.

    Seal failure is a common occurrence in lower units. Usually some fish line gets wrapped around the outer seal causing an eventual failure.

    Floor replacement on aluminum boats has been a periodic topic here over the years. I don't know if you can sort on the topic floor or not to get to them.

    They have been doing things through the mail all along. From what I understand is that each county is handling things differently and some have been open for several weeks. The ones in my backyard just opened for appointments this week.

    Might be more going on behind the scenes in the owners life than just the robbery.
