  1. Something to consider is Alewife spawning. Alewife's spawn at about 50 deg. If you find the temp you may find browns, on the bottom. It has worked for me in the past.

  3. Lake Ontario being the last lake in the system acts like a catch basin.
  4. This is an E-mail from our friend Tim Bromund on Dredging the harbors. Can you please get this message out to our members and encourage them to take the suggested action so that we don't get to a point next Summer where we can't get our boats to the Lake. Thanks. 5. The water is low in the river. Be careful of the launch at the fort. The north ramp was closed last time I was there. The Lewiston ramp is open.
  6. A person may not fish for a species (not even catch and release) during the closed season for that species on a given water. But people do it all the time. They say they are fishing for Brown trout or Walleye on the bar.

  10. Sorry, I thought you were talking about a Jet Ski when you said "parasites".
  11. Having a license to drive a boat does not make you a safe boater. Every car accident has a licensed driver. As Tim and others have said it's a NYS money grab. More intrusion in our lives. As a matter of fact I think the water- ways are safer than the roads. And the roads have speed limits and stop signs and signals and driving lanes. It's more dangerous to drive to the water.... than being on the water. And everyone driving a car is a licensed driver.
  12. OHHHH, ANOTHER THOUGHT!....wonder if you could take the water/ alcohol mix that came off the bottom of the gas can and put it in a copper still and render it down to good whiskey with a little flavoring of peach or other fruit. Then there would be no waste. Buy your still here http://www.coppermoonshinestills.com/ ut oh what happened to my little brain cell? Good idea, whiskey!
  13. I'm going to test some of the gas, just to be sure. http://autofuelstc.com/autofuelstc/pa/ethanoltest.html
  14. How do you know if it's ethanol or not?
  15. We had a charter in Key West a few years ago. Caught lots of fish. We kept one yellow tail snapper. We took it to a restaurant and they cooked for free. I did tip them well.
  16. Very nice. But I don't see any rod holders.
  17. I saw that, good for him.
  18. >Fahnsteil and others consider quagga mussels to be the most detrimental of the 186 invasive species that occupy the Great Lakes. The mussels’ eating behavior wreaks havoc on the aquatic food chain at every level. < http://www.lakescientist.com/2011/quagg ... system-112
  19. Tim, Quagga mussels at almost 500 ft. Got to be 39 degrees. Are they all over the bottom?
  20. Looks good. What is that stuff floating in the water? And what is on the equipment? Too deep for zebra mussel.
