    a 3.7 L merc is a aluminium block and a 460 big block head . they do not stand up to a over heat . I would bet its a frozen wrist pin . dark water is right barrettes all the way fran been with mercury a long time , bring a fat check book tho

    from experience from having the same issues sounds like number 4 cylinder is knocking . they are known to have the connecting rod lock up . I replace mine with another 3.7 xl and kept the original motor for parts . I got lucky and found a good motor in a crush boat the owner wanted it gone got it cheap . good luck with repair

    day 2 ... my day blew literally ended up 5 bows 1 laker , not any of them big enough for board . so where is the next finger lakes derby ?

    day 1 from the north..... was on the lake setting up by 5:15 am, wasn't to bad for the wind at first . the skies look bad to the north of the city . the fish didn't seem to care they were biting . around 9:00 am my buddy got a call from his son in law the ovens are down at cams pizza shop in pen yann , an hour later the call came back in need help so we picked up and headed back in. we did 5 lake trout 2 bows and I dropped a big laker at the boat , man did that hurt we stopped at the scale and weighed the bows biggest was 4.7 trying day 2 from the south with 20 mph winds don't expect much to happen , but you never know

    lake trout are for fishing in derbies turn them into money . then take home feed to the critters out back

    pap google u charter slide diver youtube watch the basic and there is one how to use with wire that's how I run them . I have 4 diver rods so I just keep the slide diver rig and ready to go .
