tohatus and mercury four stroke has the same engine . so you can use a mercury dealer to buy oil . synthetic blend S A E engine oil will work . I am starting out with 10 w 40 and switch to 25 w 40 when it warms up in my tohatus . the 8 hose tohatus doesn't have an oil filter another reason to change oil twice a year .

i have had the thermostat fail due to an over heat , i would replace the thermostat after you flush it .

my grandparents lived on the seneca river, the flood was fun as a kid . spearing carp raft wars all kind of neat stuff . then i had the place for ten years it wasn't so much fun then . the house is still in the family and always will be . i go to the place now and then for a cook out and think of the old days guess i will always be a river rat at heart . -

no they don't go bad but the instructions pro sent with e chips said not to get contact cement on ends need to be free of grim for them to work

i emailed pro troll to get the e chip to replace the e chip in the 8 inch flasher . they sent me 6 of them so i had extras . i then put a e chip in side a cut bait head . looks like wounded bait and puts out the wounded pulse ....

i am all for cross bow from start to finish . that being said remember when the dec was thinking of starting a early muzzleloader season in the southern zone the archery hunters put up a big fuss , i would like to hunt late October early November .want to trade for some earlier muzzleloader time in the southern zone for more cross bow time ? ....yeah did't think so ...

my boat had points . every spring i put a new set points condenser and rotor to get it started for the season . if the boat sat any length of time back under cap to clean points to get it going again . I had enough with this crap i said put in the hot spark conversion kit in and haven't been under the distributor cap in 6 years now starts up after winter and starts easier then the point ever did . at the time i bought the hot spark kit it was like 50 bucks . save a bunch of time and headaches

a good pre trip and post trip inspection goes a long way to catch hoses and belts lose this or that . do carry a tool bag to make small repairs on the water. as for parts extra fuel separator filter ,clamp or two roll of electrical tape , fuses . some down rigger parts . like the feeling of a kicker gives ya when heading out on the water for that just in case .
