  1. These guys are super great folks to deal with!! They did some work for me and I was super pleased with their work!! Anyone who knows me knows I’m picky plus I paint my own lures, so if I send lures out to get painted they are definitely top notch guys!! These are some of the Flicker Minnows I had them do. I had 2 different sizes painted by Hooked!! As you can see top notch guys..PAP.
  2. I haven't come across anything in itroll agenda that makes it an "auto" pilot. Not saying there isn't. I'm not looking for a autopilot the areas I fish you don't need anymore than the chart plotter to get you home if fog or other reasons. If I come across anything like that ill tell ya. Look up itroll for python auto steer. It comes up something else and my ipad the girls ran dead, so I don't remember the name it comes up under. But itrol will come up under it'll. Hope this helps. So happy to hear you like your python!! Like you said no more hanging on like a monkey to hook up bars and unhook the steer rod then at the end of the day your arms are as big as Popeyes steering with no power steering. This is the best news I've heard this year!! THANKS PAP.
  3. The above posts are all correct!!! I put one on my boat that was the best piece of artillery that I have found we were always 1.5 to 2 mph off at the ball verses sog. Just for instance we were coming into the trench from out in the shipping channel when I saw big arches on the bottom slowed up to 1.5 put a flasher out with gamblers rigs green and yellow trolled 10 minutes bingo the largest fresh water fish I ever saw!! But I failed at being a net man, I forgot my salmon net But had my walleye net in the cuddly which netted numerous browns and 18# kings but I just couldn't get that big bastard in the net and it only had 1 barb in the soft flesh as soon a she felt the net it darted towards the front of the boat and turned towards the deep. Away she goes, I felt bad for my daughters as they played that fish a half hour. But I say all of this happened because of the fish hawk x4d cards down, never caught fish especially silver fish like I did this year!!!PAP
  4. X2 I’ve been researching very hard and long as for I’m looking into putting a auto steer on my kicker motor. The itroll is one of the best units out there!! They have all different receivers and controls to choose from and match your budget. The itroll with the hunt abilities is the one I’m getting and have it matched up to the python steering unit. I was really surprised that not more of this company was recognized as I watched a bunch of utube vids and came across the guys from The Next Bite use this system and praised this unit up and down!! For around a Grand your race ready, and for just throttle control it’s a no brainer itroll it is thumbs down itroll!!
  5. Nice eye, bet that drum pulled like a mule!! Nice variety of fish!!
  6. Last I was up with my daughters I ran a spoon clean off the riggers my number back is 35-40ft and a cheater 15ft off each rigger ran walker deep dipsy on a 3 setting and wasn’t long I got rid of the cheaters and just ran the 4 that was plenty enough to keep tract of, I’m not the best first mate!! As dropped a slob of a Laker right at the boat. I was as sick as the girls were.
  7. No I have the X4D I have the sub troll on my other boat to use around home, but with the little 4cyl I use bags to slow her up.
  8. Holy Moly that is a fatty, with eye fishing being next to nonexistent in the NE part of LakeO I’m happy to see a pick of any eye, but that pic really put the withdrawal symptoms into overdrive!!! Nice going Justin!! Are you guys having a tuff go of it on Otisco??
  9. Yea frogger, when everything is level or kicker motor down and the outdrive is down, my rod runs at a angle forward towards the main and everything works smoothly but come time to fly I put a piece of all thread on my I/O bracket so when I’m in the up mode my lower unit the quick disconnect is a few inches about the water which helps some what but that kicker I still get nervous going out their come the cold water season.!!
  10. Thank you so much for your time and effort to take the pics, I see know how it works that’s really cool!! Can I use or do they make something like that for a I/O that’s what I’m dealing with. LOL then my kicker is mounted on my swim platform which sets behind the outdrive. Thanks again!! PAP
  11. O so the pump in the kit activates the power steering?? I’ll have to watch it again, but I still have to have the bar between the motors?? I don’t have power steering all the way I guess they call it power assist, I have a hydraulic cylinder in the rear of the boat hooked to transom support housing??
  12. Look up trim cylinder repair for alpha 1 gen 2 should come up with a utube vid. I used part# 87399A3 quicksilver. Mine had a big nut on the end if you have the type with holes in the end might have to make a spaner nut tool. Mercury sells a very expensive tool so my buddy used a spanner nut tool that only had 2 pins and they came off. Need to remove entire cylinder even the braided steel lines from the cylinder or the distribution block. USE A LINE WRENCH!! Or you’ll have the nuts rounded off, that wrench is cheap. Hope this helps!!
  13. Yea there are seals in the cylinders, you can rebuild the cylinders. I have rebuilt both trim cylinders of a fraction of a new cylinder. You need to look closely as there’re lots of kits simply because they made so many different cylinders. There’s the pre alpha then the alpha & alpha 1&2 then the bravo. So need to know what exactly which cylinders you have plus the number of cylinder you have. I clamped mine in the vise and spun the large nut off the rods working end and just follow the directions as you go. Hope your job is as easy as mine!!
  14. Thanks for the video Krystain!! I’m looking to use a stand alone for a kicker motor autopilot so I don’t need to use the connection bar. For the reasons I can’t use a EZ steer system when I need to tilt my kicker up to go out or in the bar doesn’t allow enough movement in the hiem ends to allow me to tilt up the kicker in the up and locked position!! Pjprod this system sounds like it might work, I just can’t figure out how this system works, but I’ll keep searching til I find something, does this system go inside The transom or on the outside of the transom?? Thanks again guys. PAP.
  15. Thanks for all the info guys!! I really appreciate it. What I want to do is get rid of the bar!! And have the kicker do the steering. I have the EZ Steer system now, but I can’t put the bar on before I leave because even if I could roll the kicker in towards the center of the boat it’s to much of a angle and the rod binds so I snapped an end off and now I have a longer one and that one I have the brass pin bent that hooks in to the main motor. I also have my kicker made fast to my swim platform with a bracket I made from the Adventure Marine comp. They give you all the dimensions. LOL so my situation is a little different. I have to climb out on the swim platform to hook the rod up, not bad in the summer but early spring and fall it gets a little nerve racking to say the least especially with 2-3 fters or better. This is why I want to drop my kicker down and have my Merc. 15hp with a 12 amp charging system which keeps my batteries full with 2 cannon riggers 3 sonars going a radio and a stand alone GPS and a light bar. I don’t use the light bar other than the spring eye fishing. So I’m looking for autopilot for the kicker itself. Thanks again guys maybe now you can see why I want to get rid of the EZ Steer Rod.
  16. Blood run!! I put all their hooks on lures that don’t have welded hooks, plus they have specialty hooks for tying different type Riggs. Not knocking addya just never delt with them.
  17. The second pic is what I thought might’ve been a Atlantic because of the spotting and the green top. I’ll take your word as I’m not that big into the trout scene, with the walleye fishing being almost non existent a man gotta do what a man gotta do, plus there’s a lot more activity going on for the kids to keep interested!! Thanks for your expertise and sharing your pics. PAP.
  18. Are those two Atlantic’s?? Nice job and great pics. Our browns were that size but the kids couldn’t keep them buttoned up, nice job again and we saw you out there along with other charters, great time!!
  19. LOL, thanks, I’m exactly like you you, when it comes to eating fish🤮. other than walleye and perch, and haddock that’s it. I removed the skin on one and just filleted the fish with skin on to try and smoke them. The color was bright orange definitely in the system awhile. Even hade adipose fin so might be a good fish. Was the meat soft or firm! I was surprised as to how squishy the meat was I thought it would have been more firm, but I never filleted such a thick fish.
  20. Do you know if it’s for the kicker or the main and what was the cost?? Hopefully you could shed a little as to what model you used. I was hoping to find one that I didn’t have to run via a sonar unit. Thanks for any help.
  21. Yup the old saying still stands, you can’t fix stupid!!
  22. Of course I wanted to say exactly what was talked about in some of the above posts, you don’t need a umpteen thousand $$$ rig to catch trophy lakers!! 👍
  23. Totally awesome Pete that was a dandy!! Congrats to your catch and for sharing your experience!!! Another good point of your video is now I can show my daughter how big her laker was that I messed up the net job and away swam her first big laker. I was as disappointed as she was!! Again thank you for sharing!! PAP 👍👍👍
  24. Usually we fish the wind sheltered bays it makes for a pleasant trip on crappy days. No mater what the wind direction there’s always safer harbors or bays to fish instead of the main lake. You will have to trailer your boat but I’d rather do that than sit in the cabin wondering what the hell to do next.
  25. I’m in the same boat!! I looked at the tr1 gold but was looking for a less$$$ but maybe ray marine brand sells for like $1200 vs the tr1 is 2g Plus, I read a lot about the raymarine but still not 100% understanding what’s all in tailed?? Not much help from here either, guess everyone is fishing. Totally sick of the steer bracket and needing a driver!!!
