I have a stand up frame made out threaded rod that I have had for years now. Cleaning out garage. Free to good home or shop. Needs a couple of S hooks and dowel that holds a paper roll. Easily pulls down into a bar that holds it tight. Pick up only or can work something out. Pm me. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thanks Rick. Mine went when the cables were straight off the back. Snubbers really helped a lot. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Next time I’m out I’ll try to take a clip of how abrupt my cannons stop with the snapping action on the cable. They must know it’s an issue as there’s a feature of a “soft stop” on the higher priced Optium. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Interesting. I had the mag 10s. From the early 90 era. The 5st’s I bought in 2015. There not the same speed. Can’t say whether motors are as I haven’t hadvthe 5st’s apart. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I think he was referring to the electric reactor 40. Seem cheaper than the hydraulic series. Looks like they are 2k roughly. Wintertime you might find some deals or rebates. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have the Cannon 5st’s and when they come up, they come up and stop fast. To the point where there is a momentary slack and snap action above the weight whether in the water or not. I actually had the fish hawk safety cable come apart and lossy my weight. I put the snubbers on them and viola, smooth when they stop. I recommend them for the high speed cannons that don’t have a slow down feature on the retrieve. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Sorry Sweep, I misread, thought you had hydraulic. Good suggestion on the octopus drive. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Get a stand alone AP if you troll with big motor or tied to a kicker. You have hydraulic steering so your install isn’t that big of a deal. If you have an Lowrance HDS depth finder already you could go with a Lowrance AP. If not, your investment just doubled. Sucks they force you to have one just to use it. I personally like Raymarine AP. EVO model. It can be standalone or tied to an MFD. however your not locked into buying a depth finder to use it. If you bass fish or would use an electric trolling motor on the bow for other reasons than just trolling for trout and salmon go that route as suggested. If not, I wouldn’t invest the money in one. Downsides are cost, extra weight, batteries, rough conditions etc. hope it helps. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
