  3. haha. no idea..Dont have any stingers or much of anything yet. I will say that I have purchased some Dreamweavers though. but that's it!
  4. wow, BFuller pretty ambitious eh
  5. I have an Islander 221V. I got a Merc 9.9 long shaft. I wouldn't go any lesser than a 9HP in my opinion. The 9.9 is a decent engine. I am getting an EZ steer for it. Some peeps tighten the steering on the kicker and use the I/O to steer. Would be ok with ideal conditions but not good for any breeze or chop. having said that, as you know the islander is a light boat and allot of boat is out of the water and is subject to more more in a wind than a comparable boat that is fiberglass with more of the boat in the water. I am staying away for 4 stroke engines. I have a 1986 Merc 9.9. works the nutz..However, if I had the $ I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on a 9HP Etec. You can have those Yamahas and all the other 4 strokes, Etec is the way to go
  6. I have picked up a few bullhead but not on lake o. mostly on rapalas
  7. I am pretty sure that I am just gonna take the trailer when the boat is off of it to my local garage and have them look into it. It needs to be inspected anyways and 4 tires put on it. that will be big $ but the 4 tires are from 1991! I don't see myself pulling that rig 3.5 hours down I90 from my house to Lake O.. Let me tell you the story of last September.. I make the deal to go from my house in Northville NY to Lake Erie to pick up the boat. I head out, get there, check it over, pay the guy in cash. Hook up to the boat, of course the trailer lights do no work. I figuring that this would happen, brought a spare temporary light kit with me. Well, unfortunately, the light kit doesn't extend all the way to the back of the trailer, only about to the farthest axl. so I find a spot and stick on the temp lights via magnet. Hook up the lights..Well, I have tail lights and that is it. no brakes no signals..so I have to travel basically 5 hours East on I90...its getting later in the day now mind you. Needless to say it was a hairy ride on the way home. Of course it was raining and dreary..I was very nervous that the tires would make it. They are original 1991 tires and there is allot of cracking in the sidewalls.. Fingers crossed I made it. Wont be doing that again though!
  8. anyone know how the surge brakes work. Mine do not seem to work. is there like a hydrolic fluid in it?

  11. i HAVE LOOKED into this as well. I was told that electric brakes on boat trailers are a no go. i.e. cause you get them wet allot?

  17. wow, I am just making a lake countour map up of lake O. My measured diestance to hit 50+ feet of water heading NW out of Mexico is 8 miles! that is a pretty shallow area there

  19. Do you need to have a special rod to run copper line? i.e. like wire line? Also, would a 30 class reel hold enough copper?
