  2. im with you broke off,i worked the ssw both spoon and paddle and i couldnt get it to fire.
  3. carmle dolphin was goto spoon for browns and salmon.
  4. wind and weather is going to dictate where you fish.plan on spending time looking for a 1 or 2 degree differnce in water temp.after a good rain or blow you will be looking for a mud line.we had our best fishing from catfish to the high rocks, but fished anywhere from the big river to the plant!!!again depending on water temp.
  5. thanks,i figured so as nobody has posted anything.
  6. got stuck at work and was unable to make the meeting, was just wondering if anything was discussed about this years salmon season.
  7. a good quality snap swivel makes changing lures alot easier and quicker.as far as spoons get a good collection of different colors cause what works one day might not work the next.also have some sticks to mix in cause some days they want spoons and some days they want sticks.
  8. i am new to this also, but have put my time in so this what we did this past year that worked for us.we used 25 lb main line mono and leadered down to 12 lb mono.mostly smaller sized spoons, but always have a mag out there, carmle dolphin worked the best for us,but you need a good assortment of colors as things change day to day.we run the spoons how they come out of the package and always use a snap swivel.also,we ran a mix of spoons and sticks and found that one day sticks work and the next day its spoons.we did best from catfish creek out to high rocks, but fished anywhere from little salmon to big salmon and from little salmon to the plant.as always the wind has alot to do with where you fish.cover alot of ground and when you get one work that area hard.im sure the guys that have spent alot more time out there will have more in depth info, but this is a basic set up to get you started.
  9. im not a computer person, but i have learned that anything you need to know or find, just GOOGLE it !!!!i put it in and found several places you can get them from.
  10. sandy creek canvas/life time docks.he made mine this year and last year made me a side curtain.very happy with his work and a fair price.he is located on seber shores drive on sandy pond about 5 miles north of pulaski.315-387-5481.
  11. we are planning on being there, would like to check out the hatchery, never been there, but looks like they close at 330.can you see anything after hours???
  12. some pictures from this years lake o season from the fish fighter
  13. not sure what happen, ill try it again
  14. a few of the fish caught on the fish fighter this year
  15. i am assuming this is a flush mount rod holder.you can use a hole saw,but they can be a pain to use, especially with aluminum or just a drill and a jig saw or sawsall.trace the hole where you want it,drill a hole big enough to get your jig saw blade through and cut it out.before drilling CHECK UNDER THE GUNWHALE!!!!for wires and steering cable.also, figure out which way you want it to point, you can mount it so your rod is straight behind the boat or off to the side and always use stainless steel hardware.i also like to silicone holes when i drill through anything.i know you got them for a present, but you would be much better off with a piece of track and surface mount rod holders, they are much more versatile.good luck
  16. pulled the boat today and when i got her on the trailer i saw that i had a broken spring.im hoping the marina can fix it,if not, does anyone know who does springs in the mexico area?
  17. ok,thanks, ill look into it,dont need to add strength, just looking for better floatation.
  18. thanks skateman, that looks like it will work
  19. i have twins that each sit on s.s. transom brackets.this spring i pulled one of the tops off and found that they are filled with foam, but the foam is water logged.looking to find out if there is somewhere in western ny area that would would re-foam them or if there is a place to buy that i can do it myself.
  20. i wouldnt use any plastic rod holder for king fishing on lake o.they will not hold up and it sucks watching rood a reel go to the bottom, trust me,im talking from experience.im assuming you must be fishing the finger lakes with smaller dipsies cause i dont know of anyone that could hold on to a dipsy set up all day.if you are gona fish for kings on lake o.spend the extra money and buy aluminum ones.also, make sure what ever you mount them to,can handle the pressure too..
