  4. thanks barry, does seem they are starting to show up,we had some incredible screens yesterday,i think if we had more time we could have put more in the boat.be back at it on saturday.fish on i run out of the little salmon.
  5. finally had a decent day on the water, its been a while, started around 9 off the big river worked 90 to 110 fow.came across a big bait pod with fish,no takers, turned around and went back through and doubled up,landed both,26 and 16lbs.riigers at 70 and 80 with a white gator looking paddle, one of bobby fullers custom paddles, has worked well for us this year, with a white fly and the other was on a davey jones locker, two tone mtn dew/chrome paddle with green fly.went back through there 2 more times, didnt move a rod so we decided to pick up and head to laker land, wanted to move some rods for theses guys as they had never been out before and we were short on time.set up north dune 130 fow with cow bells on riggers and 2 dipsies.poped 2 lakers right away and then the 230 dipsey starts ripping.as we were fighting the fish the screen just lit up.landed a 15 lber on a green mtn dew spinny with green fly.went back through 2 more times and picked up another laker, but the screen was loaded with fish, but couldnt do another king, had to pick up and head back in.not a bad day, starting to mark alot more fish out there.
  6. hey jerry, fishing has been tough this whole year, you are in the right area, guys seem to do some fish off the north dune, you may want to try to put some spoons down, spoon bite has been better than flashers at times this year.if you dont have a temp probe, temp was down around 80 ft yesterday.2.2 to 2.5 for speed, but change it up to see what the fish like.if you are looking to move some rods, try 120 to 140 fow on the bottom, you should be able to stur up some lakers off the north dune.i will be out there tomorrow doing lakers in that area.give me a shout on the vhf,i scan all the channels.fish fighter is the name of the boat.
  7. fished yesterday.went 6 for 6.3 kings,3 steelies.1 steely was around 5 lbs, everything else was small.started in 450 fow and worked out to 550 fow.all spoon bite had f/f out on dipsies and they never moved.riggers set between 130 and 100,cheated 15 feet up on both.300 copper and 10 color core took fish also.nbk,uv gator, purple clown, and veggie spoons took the fish.this was the most fish put on the boat in weeks, maybe a long ride, but at least the depths are producing fish.
  8. Fish are starting to show up.180 to 210 fow.temp is down around 150.fished yesterday for a few hours yesterday afternoon.hooked up on a major but came off after about 15 minutes, then had 2 knock offs.all on rigger down 180.same spoon, don't know make, but is resembles a dream weaver die hard mag size.today went 3 for6.1 at 26 lbs and 2 skip pies.2 skips on same spoon as yesterday and the major on a chrome green dot paddle with blue fly.be back at it tomorrow.
  9. anytime steelman, just trying to help out a fellow fisherman, maybe a trip out then, let me know,we will hopefully be out on the weekends for the rest of the season.
  10. i found a piece of property through limestone ridge properties.the guys name is eric gantley.he has quite a few properties with or without a camp on them.you can buiy the property out right or he does a lease to buy, which is what i did.put 10% down and he finances the rest over seven years with no interest.my property is about 20 minutes from mexico point.i bought a cheap pop up camper and put it on the property and we use it every weekend.i like it better than going to a camp ground cause in 7 years, its yours and no more payments!!!!taxes are 300 bucks a year.
  11. hey steelman,i have some extra/backup stuff i would lend you to finish out the season.im in mexico bay.let me know.sorry for your loss.
  12. check the weather and wave reports before you go anywhere!!!!!
  13. ive done similar to what capt. spike said.ive made brackets out of aluminum or stainless, mount pump and switch to bracket and slide the whole unit where it needs to be and screw bracket down somewhere that is accessible.you may have to do some bending and shaping of the bracket to fit the contour of the hull, but it makes life alot easier to install and change them out when they crap out or to take apart to clean the screen.
  14. $4.69 a gallon for 91 octane ethanol free at mikes in the little salmon.
  15. salmon still mia in mexico bay.fished saturday north dune for lakers.we wanted to at least see a rod move.got tired of catching them after 2 hours.we did at least a dozen and dropped a few and had numerous knock offs.5 or so were over 10 lbs, biggest being 16.cowbells on the bottom.down speed 1.9 to 2.1.138 fow was the sweet spot.we turned and started trolling back towards south towards port with a mix of spoons, meat, and f/f.made it past big salmon and never moved a rod.picked up and ran home.went out todaystraight out from little salmon, started in 80 fow worked out to 200 and back and never moved a rod!!!!guys are doing well in 80-90 fow with browns, but it is an early bite.oh yeah,if anyone snags a fish hwk probe and 16 lb torpedo let me know,i will give you a reward!!!!
  16. no idea where darlington is,but im in mikes marina in mexico and pay 800 for the whole season!!!!!
