  1. headed to the same area as yesterday, bait was there but couldnt get anything to go,so after a couple hours pointed west and kept on going.got out to 500 fow and turned and headed in towards alcan.got to about 450 fow and screen started looking good, mostly bait, but some fished mixed in.trolled between 400 and 450 fow, lots of bait but only managed 2 small kings.had a few knock offs.again all spoons.think thats it,unless something changes by next weekend.was a slow but consistent year, had lots of fun, fished with some great people, already looking forward till next season!!!!!
  2. Same here, fished same area as capt rich, same results,we stayed out longer though with nothing to show for it.fish shut off around noon.went 3 for 7 with a bunch off knock offs.2 small kings and 1 3 lb steely.if you are looking to move rods,it seems like the way to go,but nothing to get to exited about.make sure you lighten up your releases!!!!!!we will be back out there tomorrow and that will be it for the season.
  3. weather looks good,we will be out,may be the last one for the season for us.
  4. i dont have much to compare to,as this was only our second full season fishing the lake, but it was alot tougher fishing than compared to last year.we fish mexico bay area.there was a good amount of fish off the plant end of june and most of july and then they were gone!!!!end of july and all of august you really had to hunt for them and when you did find them it was tough getting them to go.what worked yesterday wouldnt move the next day,so you were really having to work for them.im sure the seasoned veterans that have been fishing the lake alot longer then us had better results.the other thing that kept catch rates down for us was for a long time this summer temp was down well over 150 ft.we only fish 2 riggers,so take your copper and dipsies out of the equation and you have alot less baits in the water.as far as the size of fish,we caught more 10 to 20 lb fish this year compared to last year.last year most of the fish we caught were over 20 lbs.it was frustrating at times this year, but it still was alot of fun and fished with alot of good people.boat isnt out yet,but already looking forward to next year.
  5. i will not be able to deliver after next saturday.
  6. if you are looking for t.v. coverage, here on time warner cable you have rush outdoors hunting and fishing show.i have seen them cover salmon fishing on lake ontario.
  7. i would add a few more things.even though you are using non-ethanol fuel,i would still add stabilizer to the fuel,i also like to fog the motor and when you are all done running it,spray the whole motor down with wd-40 and dont forget to grease all fittings.as far as the impeller,i like to change them every other year just for a piece of mind, its fairly inexpensive, especially if you can do it yourself.
  8. can you remove the tiller control and install either a remote control or a control king?i just installed one on my kicker and i am very happy with it.
  9. depends on what you are fishing for, amount of room you have for the f/f,if you want a stand alone or one with gps and if they except a lake map chip.all the top manufactures make quality products, you need to do the research and see who makes a unit with the most features and biggest screen size in your price range.also,do alot of shopping, you can save yourself some money.if you are salmon/trout fishing lake o,you dont need the down imaging, you are better off getting one with 50/200 mhz split screen.if you have the room, you are better off with a stand alone unit.i bought a sitex svs-750 dual frequency that i am very happy with that was close to your price range.
  10. fished yesterday from 9 till3.went 3 for 3.fished the big river to south dune.100 to 120 fow water had the most bait and marks.took 1 king on white paddle white fly rigger down 100,took 1 king on the producer cheated up 10 ft on 90 ft rigger and 1 brown on a j-plug down 90 on the rigger.fished today from9 till 4 went 0 for 2.both were screamers, white spinny with prism tape out 230 on 2 setting with white fly, broke him off and then same white paddle with white fly on rigger down 100 spit after bout a minute or two.same area as yesterday.
  11. i have always used the manufacturers oil in the motor in all my motors for years.after reading a post over the winter on here about alot of guys using the supertech from walmart at 12 bucks a gallon i decided to try it this year.i have twin 200 older yammies and went through 6 gallons so far this year and the motors are still running strong.just like was stated above, oil is oil,for the most part, like synthetic or synthetic blend.so i spent 70 bucks or so instead of colse to 300 bucks had i bought yammie oil.
  12. we fished yesterday from noon till 6 from the big river to the south dune.went 2 for 5 with a few knock offs.worked 120 to 130 fow.temp. down 110 feet.both fish landed came on a dirty white boy paddle and white fly rigger down 110.lost one on a geen dot crush paddle with green fly down 100 and had two come off at the back of the boat on a green mtn dew spinny with green fly on dipsey out 320 on a 2 setting.lots of bait and fish on the bottom.fished today from 8 till 12 same area.could only troll nw due to nasty wind and 3 foot chop.made two trolls, didnt mark many fish, did see alot of bait.hit 1 5 lb coho as we were picking up,came on green mtn dew spinny with green fly on dipsey out 320 on 2 setting in 120 fow.
  13. the boat is located in inlet ny,just north of old forge
  14. sounds like oswego is pretty hot,its been inconsistent in mexico bay.hopefully they start moving this way
  15. i have i 1992 wellcraft sportsman 24 ft.i bought this boat as project boat, but never did anything with it.boat is in great condition.large cabin with seperate head, sink, stove and fridge.large open cockpit for fishing.i bought it with no motor, but i sold my other boat last year and have the motor off of that boat which is an 1987 200 hp yamaha.motor runs great.the boat has all the gauges and controls for a yamaha.if anyone is interested in a winter project and have a really nice fishing boat for next spring give me a call.i also have a f/f and gps to go with it.no trailer, but if you want it,i can load it on my trailer to deliver, but has to be done by the end of this month before i pull my boat for the season.$2,500.send me a pm if you want more info.
  16. things can change day to day this time of the year.mexico bay has been hot and cold.nothing consistent.keep reading the reports and make your decision at the end of the week.sounds like oswego has been pretty hot lately.not to far from henderson.im hoping to get out friday and i will post results.
