I've always just went down to the docks and found the best deal in FLD.Florida fishing seems to never let me down but I did get skunked 2 years ago on a snapper head boat. No commercial fishing keeps it healthy. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Fisheries management needs to be proactive and never reactive. I grew up fishing in Chesapeake Bay. So many factors in a natural reproductive fishery. Inshore mid Atlantic fishing is pretty bad now ,couple good months when big Striped Bass return to the Bay in April and December that's it. I've found great Fishing in Lake Erie and Ontario is worth the expense of coming here except the Salmon was off this summer. I hope managers here never take it for granted because it could happen let's hope not ! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

LAKE ONTARIO MEETING with D.E.C/Sea Grant Tue Oct .7th

Great points on water clarity and alewives avoiding the trawl net. Makes sense to me. But then I don't have a degree in fisheries management. Bottom line is when you try to play god its not always easy to do. -
I guess its not really how many fish return but the number of eggs and milt needed to achieve this years magic number of smolts. If it was really bad you would think the word would go out to bring fish to the hatchery?

I was at hatchery on Monday around noon. I saw about 19 raceways off the lift and 2 were full of salmon. There were fish coming in off the ladder. I don't know how good or bad that is.
