If I added up all the money I have spent on fishing in my lifetime , I could own a nice house and a sports car . And have money left over . I figure every time I go out , everything included , equipment , rods reels lures electronics, boat,registration,insurance, boat maintenance, gas for truck And boat ,etc , costs me 60 to 300 per trip . And I'm probably underestimating. So don't kid yourself. So that salmon fillet is cheap in comparison. I,don't think this is entirely about control as it is politicians covering their ass . They had to do something , the number of dead prove that . For those that think it is just about control , I hear there is a,sale on tin foil hats on Amazon.

Since the launches are now open , I will post Fished about 1.5 hrs this morning . 7 to 10 ft found nice patch of water . Stained and warm . Also ,it is against the Law to have alcohol in a state park . But we all know a lot have it as do the park police . If you are being discreet , they won't bother you . If you get crazy , they can use that law to throw you out or press,charges . Maybe the same mindset is,being used with this . If you launch alone and follow guide lines , they leave you alone . If not ,they ticket you .

A guy who sits on the bank with a couple bobber rods might be fishing for food . A guy who shows up at the launch with 40 k + tied up in equipment is not fishing to feed his family . The gas used for that outing could feed a family for up to a week . So that argument is silly ,at best . What , like 13000 death from this virus . This is not ALL about control .

My sister in law in DC said a guy got arrested to day in McLean Viginia for pumping gas without a mask . Law says we have to wear a seat belt or helmet on a motorcycle . It won't stop you from dying , but it will help .

Just got back from Wegmans. My wife has been bugging me to wear a mask and I don't want to but caved in to her . Virtually everyone in there had a mask .

I feel once the hoses have been compromised by ethanol , they will continue to break down . So I would replace all hoses from tank to carb . It's an 84 so it might be time anyway .

Also the fuel pump diaphragm can disintegrate causing the same problems .

I have an 86 Merc . I had a lot of carb issues with it . I put ethanol gas before we knew we should not use it . It disintegrated the hoses and tiny pieces got in the jets . Gas was dripping from the bottom of the carb . I had it rebuilt by Bruce and it ran great . It happened about 5 more times after that as I think particles were in the lines . I had the carb off that many times to clean it out . I would spray WD 40 into the carb and dump it out on a paper towel and find small sand grain size pieces of plastic . I finally put a small fuel filter just ahead of the carb and one see thru on the tank fuel line . Problem solved .

Maybe it's time for all of the guys who travel to get back to their fishing roots and fish In their local waters . I'm quite sure their is some sort of fishing for stream trout or sunfish close by . Wet a line and appreciate the fact you are healthy and can at least go

Here is my question When we are told it is safe to come out , if there is no vaccine , I still have just as much of a chance to get the virus , correct ? It's not like it's just going to go away . So in reality we are not safer , just prolonging what may be the inevitable . If that is the case , then this must be being done so that the health care system won't be overrun .
