    i like braid for a main line less stretch seems to stick them better when they hit the release and comes tight much quicker then mono

    get ride of any small treble hooks and install single hooks also softer tipped rods help make sure strike drag is not to heavy and keep boat speed the same until after striking the fish if its rough out your going to loss more good luck .lost a screamer yesterday

    the trench and stony point light are out of henderson bay just south of water town use the town boat launch go under the bridge witch is called the cut turn left go about 1 mile and you are in the trench very short boat ride nice area .

    buck blaster did you catch any on you trip it was tough thursday and friday due to water temp but i did pull out a 6 lb brown .were you from malone?

    fishmounter i have to say those are very nice looking mounts you did puts those other mounts right to the trash can ! i do taxidermy on deer and bear and i cant believe some of the mounts some people put. out. i was lucky enough to catch a brown just over 6 lbs my first trip to henderson this weak under very tough water temp conditions would like to mount it never caught to many browns in my life .i will ck out your web sight and try to get in touch once again nice job .

    yea i think so as well now that i saw the temp report i kind of figured temp was bad due to storm that cam through just before i got there plus browns do a little better in warmer water then salmon or lakers i didnt see any other boats catching so i was thank full for that nice brown .nice short run from the boat launch to the trench

    fished the trench for the first time thursday and friday lots of marks and some bait most marks in 135 suspended up above around 100 fish didn,t wont to play only caught 2 browns and a white fish was lucky enough to get a6 lb brown was either water temp or moon issue . i will be back!

    heading to Henderson bay this weak can any body recommend a good taxidermist in that area ? just in case i get lucky

    buy a deeper portable fish finder /flasher work great

    make sure to use floro leader about a rod length get ride of swivel at the spoon and use a good snap put the swivel between main line and the leader ..also fish the marks they should give you a good indication of depth to run also if you getting knock offs your close to figuring out the bight very color a little or size as well as increase lead back from ball. once they start to show you what they like try to reduplicate it with other rods to increase hook ups .when you hook up gps to spot and work it over often you will find a specific location that they are feeding at .also allways keep working your set up till you find what they want for example color ,size .action, depth,.speed. if you have bait and marks figure out the good luck!

    heading to Henderson harbor this weak do any of the local shops there have gamblers cowbell / spin and glow setups would like to but a few as well as torpedo weights thanks.

    just wanted to ad to this great tip you can ad a church tackle stern planner to this set up and run it way back down the shoot in clean water i catch lots of nice salmon this way and it dosnt tangle with other rigs .

    i had a color c lector years ago was salmon fishing on april 1 st no bites tried it out said to use red and blue went through tackle only thing i had was a half oz rattle trap for bass tied it on my buddy just laughed caught 3 salmon in like 10 minutes then lost it to a ice burg only fish we caught that day .

    i trap and have often thought of trying muskrat tails for bait they look like lamprey eels

    never heard of that but its a great trick for lakers as well so you dont have to run your ball so close to the bottom more gear to buy.

    hay jim i am heading to Henderson bay in a couple of weeks to fish for kings as well lived in alton nh most of my life now i live in malone ny cant what to get on some reel fish . Do a lot of fishing on lake Champlain makes the salmon and trout fishing on winnie look stupid ! ck out bill saiffs videos and just keep looking through this forum and you will pick up lots of valuable tips and locations .good luck eric

    i cannot understand why i keep reading on this forum that people feel that the lake trout is nothing more than a trash fish and that it should be killed and wasted just because its not silver . You guys that fish lake Ontario are so lucky to have such a great fishery that i think some might take it for granted all fish are a valuable resource unless they are a evasive species .enjoy the fight and please release unharmed if you are not going to eat it after all many a charter boat makes a living catching lakers and other none silver fish .
