2018 Evinrude ETech 250 EFI stops running

Family friend with the motor listed above was on plane and running back to port (bass boat) and boat came off plane and soon stopped running. Turns over but doesn’t start. EFI boat. 
would appreciate any feedback.

Needs to hook up to an engine reader. The software may reveal issues.

Sounds like fuel to me.  After I made sure spark was ok, I'd pump a little gas off the bottom of the gas tank to make sure there is any "crud" in tank.  (Any bouncing of the boat would send it right into fuel line)  Then I'd check the stuff mentioned in this article.
