FINALLY, I managed to make it out on the water to get jigging this year. Back in May I hit a deer with my truck and the collision shop I unfortunately used has had my truck in the shop for OVER A MONTH AND A HALF. I haven’t been able to pull my boat for all of June and all of July. It’s killing me inside, knowing fish are out there to jig. But I digress.

A friend was kind enough to invite me out today for a combo jigging/trolling trip. We started out jigging and dropped a laker off the bat. We spent the next couple hours trolling without much to show for it besides a good rip on the 225 diver pulling a spoon. We pulled the trolling gear around 10 and started to try to put a brown program together with the jig. I quickly stuck a laker and got him landed and released. Shortly after my buddy hooked into a tanker brown and was able to land the beast after a fun battle on the jig. Not long after I stuck another brown the exact same size which came off after a spectacular leap at the boat. My buddy had two other fish he hooked and dropped along with hooking and landing a 14 inch brown 😂😂. All in all it was a fun morning with a good amount of bites coming on the jig despite it not being the main focus of the outing.

I’ve been told I should have my truck back Monday, but they have also pushed my estimate back three times so, we will see if I need to lose my mind on them to get my means to tow my boat back! It’s enough to drive a guy crazy.

It's good to hear that you finally good out and made out well.I know that you cannot do it on a forum like this, but I'd love to know the name of the shop where your truck is, just so I know where not to go for service.

Oh I’ll tell you hahah. Shoot me a PM. I’ll never ever ever say a good word about them for the rest of my existence.

Sounds like a familiar story. A buddy of mine in Boston had major issues with his Jeep Grand Cherokee while towing his boat...he had to abandon the boat and have it towed to his marina...and even though the Jeep was under warrantee, the shop told him that they couldn't even look at it for six weeks.

He will never deal with Chrysler again. In fact, he bought an F150 the next week and sold the Jeep as soon as it was fixed. It does seem like a theme though - you're covered, but timing isn't guaranteed.

WE trolled by you guys.  85' - 90' had a bunch of kings laying on the bottom. We plucked a couple in that zone early.

I ran my 400 copper with meat, and had a rigger with meat as well (62 and later on 82 down).. not a sniff.  Did you pluck via spoons or meat or what?
