Hoping maybe someone has found a solution for this...

I have a 1997 LUND 1700 Pro Sport with a 1996 115 HP Mercury Outboard... It's has a Quicksilver 3000 Classic shift control that has failed. This is no longer made and

I am hoping someone has upgraded to newer Mercury controller and Gen II cables. If anyone has i=I would appreciate knowing which parts you used and if you are

happy with the results.

Thank you in advance...

The parts he needs are no longer available & the part he needs is normally the first part to fail in that box so used is probably not a good option either.

Why not use a more modern version? After all, the control box just sends a message to the outboard and as long as you can send the same message with a different box preferably a new one, you should be fine.

You can contact Kiekhafer (Mercury Marine) for more precise advice, but I replaced a 3000 about 5 years ago with a $250 new one , which I suspect came from China, like almost everything else we buy. I just checked what t he 3000 needed to do and with that info I bought a new one. As for special cable ends, you can buy those and attach them to the cable ends. There are a few companies that sell them.
