Just an FYI looks like they are dredging in the channel at Braddocks. Be careful if heading out. Man there are a lot of ducks.

the ponds I hope will have a fish in them some day. Sad. Wonder if this low water has pushed fish else where and or lack of access to spawning is catching up. Be nice if something can be done to allow fish in the channels with all this low winter lake levels. Dredge the pond channels or a fish access pipe? I recall the 2014 plan was to fluctuate the water levels to save muskrats. What about all the fish?

Perch and alewife populations fluctuate with Alewife populations.  When alewife biomass is high, perch and walleye populations are low.  Seeing that we have a large biomass of alewife, perch and walleye populations are more than likely low.

Just a heads up.... the launch ramp at Braddocks is closed until the dredging is completed.

If I’m not mistaken the channel was closed last year until almost May?

can someone confirm?

You are correct. The information I read from Westpoint marina... the channel didn't fill in as much as anticipated. They expect to be done in 2-3 weeks... weather permitting.  Lake level at 255.27 as of Friday morning... lets hope it keeps rising...

It’s coming up at a good pace.  Let’s hope it continues.  The IJC released a statement the other day saying due to March precipitation and snow pack they expect the lake to be slightly above average.  Slightly above average in the past to the IJC means start filling g sand bags!

The Braddock Bay channel is now open for use, dredging complete.... I was out cycling by Westpoint Marina this afternoon and noticed the dredge tied up and workers off loading piping. I inquired with regard to completion and one of the workers advised they were finished, with the channel open for use. Present depth is 4' - 6'.
